On the Friday 8th April 2016 I underwent a TEP procedure for bi lateral inguinal herniae which was performed by Mr Sheen. From the initial consultation I was put completely at ease and totally informed. All my questions and concerns were answered honestly and accurately in a way that made me feel I was speaking to a real friend. I went to theatre about 11.30 and was back in my room by around 13.30. Everything went very well with no pain, only what I would call mild discomfort. By about 15.30 I was up and about walking and had a meal. By 19.30 I was ready to be collected go home. I was at home in my own bed by 22.00, climbing stairs was not a problem and I slept very well. Saturday I walked short distances but quite regularly and each day did a little more. By Thursday I could drive the car without discomfort and after that things got back to normal very quickly. I phased my return to work with odd short days during the second week and back to work full time after three weeks. I am so pleased with the outcome, I could not have asked or wished for a better recovery. I cannot express in these few short words just how grateful I am to Mr Sheen, Paul Foster and the rest of the team that looked after me so well. I know each person is unique and each condition may be different but my advice is choose well (I know I did) and follow all advice given to the letter, including that in the post op care leaflet. Professional, reassuring, care with practical advice both pre and post op. Had gallbladder removed. Mr Sheen provided an excellent advice sheet for post op care and recovery, phased on what to expect and do on a week by week basis. My wounds healed quickly and will leave minimal scarring. I didn't need any painkillers within 24 hours of my operation, any pain was cope-able without the need for drugs although 48-72 hours post op were the most uncomfortable days. I felt perfectly well enough to start driving 2 weeks after the operation and had no discomfort at all. I went back to work after 3 weeks as I did experience tiredness as the body healed itself. Main advice, everyone is different, listen to your body and give it time to heal and recover. Follow the advice sheet and you will be fine. I would recommend Mr Sheen.

Mr Sheen acted with great professionalism throughout the consultation and procedure. I was entirely comfortable throughout. I followed the instructions in his very useful leaflet and recovered exactly as he said I would. There was no need for painkillers and the cosmetic effects of the surgery were minimal. I was more than satisfied with his treatment and recommend him without hesitation

I cannot speak highly enough about Mr Sheen. From my first consultation right through to my post surgery follow up, Mr Sheen made me feel totally at ease and confident that I was 100% in great hands. I had a gallbladder removal and the first consultation was a very pleasant and informative experience. Mr Sheen explained absolutely everything in detail, allowed me to ask questions and answered them in full detail as well as providing me with a great little leaflet that I could take away and read at my leisure. On the day of the surgery, Mr Sheen visited me prior to the procedure taking place, as well as post surgery in the evening. I was made to feel comfortable and at ease at all times. I was in hospital overnight and felt great after only a few days post surgery. Mr Sheen's Anaesthetist was excellent and again explained exactly what would happen step by step, again feeling totally confident and relaxed about the whole procedure. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Sheen. A true professional, warming, caring bedside manner and an absolute gent. Thank you!
