I was lucky enough to be one of Wendy’s last patients for breast surgery in April. I was beyond lucky. Her empathy and bedside manner were outstanding. Despite her heavy workload You really did feel that you were her only patient that day. I am only sorry that by the time I went to get my results following the lumpectomy she had retired from St Richards. I hope she will get this message! I wish her well for the future.

Wendy treated me in 2005 at Haslar Hospital I had a mastectomy and reconstruction, of all the doctors and surgeonsI met during this and previous procedures she was the one I had most confidence in, she was approachable and explained everything in detail, nothing was too much trouble. Wendy was always completely empathetic and understanding- so much so that her personal care and attention made me cry, even though I was 41 at the time it was akin to having my mum next to me at every step. If it wasn't for her tenacity and professionald determination my condition would never have been diagnosed in the first place, I have a huge amount to thank her for, after all I'm still going strong more than 11years later
