I have been under the care of Uma Bathula for approx. 18 months with age and menopause related issues. My initial consultation due to the pandemic was carried out over the telephone, which initially i was rather disappointed about. However I didn't need to have any concerns as I wasn't rushed and given the opportunity to explain all of my issues and symptoms. Over the coming months I had various tests and all results were clearly explained and treatment options discussed. I was also referred to the physiotherapy department, this referral has been simply amazing. I have been able to removed some symptoms and greatly improve others, my quality of life day to day is wonderful and my overall health and wellbeing has also improved. Uma Bathula is an understanding and compassionate individual as have all of her colleagues that I have come into contact with over this period of time. Thank you for making life great again.

I saw Miss Bathula in January 2020 for pelvic pain, which has affected my quality of life for years. I have numerous gynae issues and had struggled to find NHS treatment to help me after various hormonal and other approaches had been only marginally successful at best. At my first appointment she was empathetic and professional, and was clear on the best treatment option for me whilst taking my views on board at each step. It was such a relief to have a clear plan. I was admitted quickly for a TAH and BSO. The surgery has been completely successful in completely solving my pain issues only six weeks after surgery. My scar has healed well and my recovery has been without complication. She saw me both pre and post surgery to make sure I understood the plan. I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending Miss Bathula to anyone who needs help with ongoing pelvic pain and/ or who requires surgery. I couldn't be more grateful to her for the care she has provided.

Miss Bathula communicates all information clearly. Her expertise shines through when describing recommended treatments. After years of fertility issues due to PCOS and endometriosis diagnoses, Miss Bathula performed a operation that removed scar tissue & cysts. 5 months later we fell pregnant with Our beautiful Daughter. I can’t thank Miss Bathula enough for the work she does.

I feel that Miss Bathula is an excellent consultant, who listened to my concerns, was very thorough. She allowed me time to ask questions, which she answered. She has a very friendly manor which puts you at easy. She respected all of my choices and I would not hesitate in recommending her to anyone. I very much appreciate everything that she has done for me.

she was 15 mins late witch stressed my husband out went because of my heavy menstrual bleeding she gave me 3 options she explained the pros but not the cons my husband asked about a subtotal hysterectomy but said you haven't read the leaflet have you witch our reapply was we haven't had a leaflet so she gave us one she was going to enplane outpatient hysteroscopy but my husband interrupted fearing we hand not got alot of time to witch he was correct because she said i have got other patients to see. outpatient hysterscopy can be very painful to which we had no recognition of witch i was in a high risk category of severe pain she did say she was going to offer general anaesthetic i guess at the end of her explanation and we believe her. to be fair she was happy refer me for a GA and seamed almost relived she said most women want a outpatient but if you do not tell them the pain risks then they will i do wonder if she would refer post menopausal women as there almost guaranteed to have severe pain she is a very skilled surgeon but make sure she ex planes any negative cons to any procedure oh and tell her to introduce the 2 women with her they freaked my husband out by staring at him

Profile

Start date at the Trust: 01.10.2009. I qualified from one of the premier medical institutes of India, JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research) Pondicherry, South India. I completed my early years of training initially in India then in West midlands. I then trained as a Colposcopist along with Outpatient Hysteroscopy in the West midlands deanery. I subsequently had extensive training in the management of High risk pregnancies in the Wessex deanery. I obtained training in Urogynaecology under the guidance of Mr Constantine at the Good Hope Hospital. During my training, I developed a particular interest in outpatient procedures combined with my Ultrasound scan training has made a major impact in dealing with fast track referrals efficiently. I have a special interest in Medical education as I believe proper training and education today will produce quality doctors for tomorrow. Hence I have taken up the job as RCOG College Tutor recently. I am keen to pursue an active role in providing outpatient services in the coming years as I settle into my post here along with smooth running of patient led Obstetric services where expectant mothers are offered genuine choices in the management of their pregnancy. I provide all these services at Stafford, Cannock & Rowley Hall Hospitals.
