I was so pleased with the surgery undertaken on my eyes by Dr Rosie Brennan and her team. Everyone at the National Treatment Centre in Inverness was extremely caring and efficient - an ideal combination, of course! I felt very well cared for, and Dr Brennan found time to explain the process while still moving along briskly, due to a backlog of patients on a day when Inverness woke up to inches of snow and chaos on the roads. I’d like to thank everyone at the centre, from the staff mopping snow-melt from the floors, through the pre-op and post-op nurses to Dr Brennan herself and her team - Mel, if I remember rightly, who held my hand, Debbie and a young man whose name I didn’t catch. How lucky we are to have this centre and these teams! Thank you!

Special thanks to Consultant Opthalmologist, Dr Rosie Brennan of the Ophthalmology Department who carried out my eye surgery recently.  Extremely grateful and thankful to her for her incredible skill and expertise in carrying out the surgery.  Absolutely thrilled with the results, life changing for me and I can't thank Dr Brennan enough.  I sincerely appreciate everything that all the Nurses and Theatre staff did for me in the Eye Surgery Day Case Unit on the day I attended. At the follow up appointment, after surgery, I wanted to say how much I appreciated Dr Brennan's time, kindness and understanding whilst I discussed an issue which was important to me.  She was extremely empathic and kind.  Her actions were truly appreciated and they went a long way to repairing the upset caused by a certain male Doctor on the day of surgery.  The interaction was brief, but my personal space was not respected, I was spoken to in a very condescending tone and was utterly humiliated and offended by a comment he made all in a matter of minutes. I divulged personal information and he immediately used it in a throw away remark which made me feel extremely humiliated and ashamed. Makes me question the underlying character of this man. Requires supervision, especially around vulnerable patients. Has minimal patient contact but that doesn't mean to say he can run roughshod over patients and behave to others as he did toward me. I didn't deserve to be spoken to the way he did. Felt uncomfortable in his presence and thoroughly offended by his manner. Arrogance is used by the weak, while kindness is used by the strong.
