Miss Patel is the most brilliant person amazing surgeon unbelievably knowledgeable and highly skilled Doctor I have ever met known or heard of My story and experience is as follows. (Simplified for brevity) I a 64yr old male, experienced significant abdominal pain for 5 days thinking it was food poisoning and so fasting. The pain grew worse and so I looked at Dr google which suggested appendix issues. I finally rang 111 and was advised to call an ambulance (wait time 4 hrs) so I drove to FGH (10mins) was booked in with ever increasing pain genuinely not sure if I would live or die. After not so long I was admitted and Miss Patel examined me ordered test's bloods and pain relief etc She was magnificent, everything anyone could ask for in that situation and more. She identified the issue (gall bladder) explained the treatment (surgery) advised on likely procedure but warned it may need a more severe surgery if matters were worse than could be seen at this point. I was 100% reassured, completely at ease with the surgery and that this surgeon would be completely in control. Miss Patel insisted on immediate surgery and ensured NOTHING got in the way of that happening with ultra sounds mri etc etc all being done in an efficient effective manner. When I woke up after surgery the keyhole option had converted into a full open abdominal surgery. Miss Patel visited shortly thereafter and advised that on doing the keyhole and inserting the camera my organs were not distinguishable and so opening up the abdomen was essential. It transpired that my gall bladder had become gangrenous I had peritonitis and had been in a very sub optimal situation. She cleaned everything up stiched the wound and determined the treatment plan. I saw miss patel almost daily and followed her treatment plan to the letter. 7 days after surgery I was fit for discharge went home and have made a full recovery- in fact I feel better now than I have in a couple of years !!! My experience has been 5 star across every aspect of my treatment, from cleaners to catering staff, nurses doctors I cannot praise them highly enough. With regard to Miss Patel the professional, reassuring, confident, skill set that she possesses is beyond words. I can think of nothing that could improve her performance and can only ask that every doctor, surgeon, nurse, et al strive to attain her level of ability, professional skills and excellence. I honestly believe that Miss Patel saved my life and should I ever need that level of medical intervention I would earnestly seek to have her as my surgeon. Miss Patel is everything I could ever wish for in a surgeon. 100% brilliant If you get to read this thank you. Dal Dawkins

Straight forward knowledgeable, reassuring and questioning of my understanding. She made me feel like I understood what was happening and what was going to happen, for me, that instilled a great deal of trust in her as I am afraid of many things regarding hospital procedures.
