I can not praise my surgeon Dr Panagiota Lioliou enough. I was first seen by another Surgeon at Peterborough City Hospital whose bedside manner was not very good to say the least. After looking at the small lump below my eye and said it only looked like it was a wart. I assured her that it wasn't as it had been removed by my GP months before who told me it did belong to the cancer family (wasn't said quite like that but I have problems with my memory) The surgeon then went away and looked at my notes, on her return I was told it would have to be removed. I was told that ba small cut would be made below the eye to remove it then a couple of stitches to close it. Although when I went to have it done at Stamford, my surgeon Dr Lioliou explained that a large cut would be needed (A flap I think we what she called it) to get as much of the tissue around it to make sure she was able to get it all out. I was in a state of shock as this was nothing like I was told would happen. Dr Lioliou was very good in explaining everything to me including what might happen after as it was very near to my eye, fortunately there were no problems but she really did reassure me and put me at ease with her excellent bedside manner. She really did an excellent job and without doubt is a perfectionist at what she does as the scar is healing extremely well. In fact I'd be very happy if this was the end result, but she assured me that there was still a long way to go until it was fully healed and that it was still swollen. It's already so good that unless I point it out to any one they wouldn't know if had anything done. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have had her as my plastic surgeon. Once again I can't thank Dr Lioliou enough, along with all the nurses from Stamford and Peterborough who were also very kind. Thank you so very much. Mrs Maggie Winter

I had two procedures one week apart. Each time Miss Lioliou explained everything fully and provided detailed answers to my questions. I believe that she demonstrated a high level of skill throughout the operations. Miss Lioliou appeared to have an excellent working relationship with the other theatre staff and helped to create a very positive environment.
