I saw Miss Shankar in an outpatients clinic today. Her manner was so calming, she showed great empathy and was extremely supportive, she took her time to explain in detail my diagnosis and treatment. Miss Shankar is an exceptional consultant who demonstrates a great sense of professionalism. She is a doctor that you can trust and I have complete confidence in her.

From the initial referral through to surgery I have received the best care from Miss Shankar and felt I could trust her implicitly. She always listened to me and she gave me the time I needed to discuss my treatment. Miss Shankar provided me with facts to support and help me make the decision about the surgery and she undertook all the necessary consultations, procedures, scans, surgery and follow up herself. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy at Kingston Hospital and cannot commend Miss Shankar, her team and all the hospital staff highly enough for their professionalism, care and sensitivity throughout my treatment.

Being 38 weeks and struggling to breathe and panic attacks, I have seen miss Shankar twice and my heart sank both times I left her office in tears as I felt that she didn't listen, she just came in and asked me questions that were already on my notes from my previous midwife appointments and then booked me in for another scan. I felt like there was no compassion and that she just wanted to get as many people seems possible that day so she can go home

Miss Shankar was my consultant through my extremly difficult pregnancy. I was diagnoised with Hyperemesis Gravidarum at 7 weeks pregnant. On one of my times in Hospital I was seen by Miss Shankar & was so impressed I requested her as my consultant as at this point I had not seen my appointed consultant yet . I was extremly sick unable to eat or keep any food down. Miss Shankar was extremly helpful & efficient going out of her way to make sure myself & my unborn baby received the best treatment possible and setting me on the course which I believe saved my babys life, for this I will always be grateful. She constantly monitored us with scans and blood tests even after I was discharged from hospital after weeks of receiving intravenous fluids and tube feeding I would be seen by her at the antenatal clinic. I was very scared and had great anxiety as I was worried about my baby but Miss Shankar was very supportive & made me feel safe and secure that I was receiving the best possible care for me and my baby. At all times she was professional and I will always be thankful to her for taking care of my baby and myself at a time I felt extremley scared & vulnerable. I would not hesitant to recommend her to anyone who needed a doctor. Although not having much experience with my condition before she was very professional and always listened to my worries and concerns.
