April 7, 2024. Breast reconstruction surgery after mastectomy. Abdominoplasty. I adore my beautiful Dr. Maleeha. She gave me an incredibly beautiful breast reconstruction. I am delighted, the breasts are beautifully shaped and they are soft and natural. My tummy is flat again and I have a perfect figure again. And this is the best doctor who has performed such miracles, she is simply a master of her craft. I thank the entire team at the Reconstructive Surgery Department for their excellent treatment of patients. Five Stars!!! Thank you.

I met Miss Mughal at my first appointment with the breast cancer surgeon Mr Kothari. I had previously had a segmental mastectomy in 2003 at another hospital but I got a new cancer in 2022 in the same breast and as I had already been given radiotherapy in that breast I knew I would have to have a mastectomy which I did not want. I agreed to an immediate mastectomy and diep reconstruction which I had on 8 Sept 2022. It was a gruelling operation but at the end I had a warm new breast thanks to Miss Mughal and her skills at using a microscope to reattach blood vessels and use the old skin in my breast to avoid scars apart from those around where the nipple had been (cancer surgeons don't like nipples as they have a lot of ducts in them which could contain cancer cells). I was recently offered some extra surgery to improve the appearance of my reconstruction but I think at the moment I don't want to have further surgery. I am undergoing quite a lot of other breast cancer treatment and that is enough for now. Miss Mughal is easy to talk to and I like her, but I found it gruelling to wait at the hospital as I am a stickler for appointments being on time. That's not how hospitals work I fear.

I first met Maleeha Mughal in August 2021 who was going to be doing joint surgery with my Cancer Surgeon as I was going to be having a Mastectomy and breast reconstruction under DIEP at the same time. The whole process was explained to me in great detail and I instantly felt 100 % relaxed and at ease with the operation process. Miss Mughal answered all my questions and concerns and I felt she was very empathetic to my needs and the situation i was undergoing as I was dealing with breast cancer. The operation went extremely well and I didnt have any problems following the DIEP reconstruction and everything healed fantastically. I recently underwent had my second phase surgery whereby my nipple reconstruction was finished and dog ears/ flaps on my hips were removed and lipofilling was also done - operation went seamlessly. I could not have asked for a better Plastic Surgeon and I am so happy Miss Mughal was my surgeon.

Ms Mughal gave good advice and direction concerning surgery options and outcomes. She was open and clear about follow up appointments and wait times, and what follow up procedures were possible post surgery. My only reservation was that she seemed a bit rushed in appointments and had little time to listen to my outcome hopes or worries.

Miss Mughal is a really smart, talented surgeon. She is kind and compassionate and really makes you feel like she cares about giving you back a body you can feel comfortable in after enduring cancer treatment. I first met Miss Mughal in November 2020. At that time I had an implant that was mishapen and very hard following radiotherapy. From the start she was incredibly reassuring that she could create me a great result from the DIEP Flap surgery and talked through in detail how she would create a new breast. I had the surgery in June 2021 and it was the best decision I ever made. My new breast looks and feels fantastic. Her stitching is so neat around the new breast and across my stomach. That was something that really mattered to me. The shape she created exceeded my expectations. I had lived with a hard implant for 2.5 years which caused so much discomfort, my new breast feels like it has always been there. I have Phase 2 later in the year to create a nipple and for any other tweaks which is to be expected and only continues to improve the overall look. I am so grateful for everything Miss Mughal has done for me. I really enjoying meeting with her, she listens and sets my expectations each time I see her. It felt like such a huge hurdle to climb over in my mind to have this surgery, the length of the surgery, the complexity but Miss Mughal gently guided me to press ahead and she was absolutely right. It effects are immediate for both mind and body. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone else considering this surgery.
