Laura operated on me on 21 February 2017 as I had a detached retina. Laura and her team were absolutely outstanding from the minute I entered the eye clinic as an emergency referral from the optician. She stayed late so I could have my operation asap and had been at work since early morning having taken a clinic (not something she told me). She spent time explaining everything I wanted to know, she spent a lot of time explaining risks in a very practical way. I had a local anaesthetic so I heard all the interaction with the team in theatre and it was here that she was most impressive. She was remarkably calm and totally professional throughout. Her interaction with the nurses was wonderful to hear. It is obvious she has a large amount of respect for her team of all levels. Whilst having what was a scary operation, I felt I was in the hands of "one of the best" and a "true professional" and felt relaxed throughout. After the operation, she spent time talking to me about the operation and after care. Laura is a true professional with a lovely warm personality who knows exactly how to look after her patients- a true star.
