44 reviews

Miss Ismail obtained her primary medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 2000. She has worked in some of the busiest units in South Africa and the UK but started her formal Obstetrics and Gynaecology career in London. She then moved to Oxford where she completed her structured postgraduate training programme in this speciality. During this time, she obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), which subsequently led to a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2014. Miss Ismail currently works as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology for the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) and is based at the John Radcliffe Hospital. She has published many papers and is involved in a number of quality and service improvement projects at the OUHFT. As a RCOG College Tutor she is actively involved in teaching and shaping the training of junior doctors at the Women’s Centre. She is a general gynaecologist who has completed further advanced training skills modules in benign gynaecology, hysteroscopy and vulval disease. She is an able surgeon in both open and keyhole (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) surgery. One of her main interests is optimizing service provision to enhance patient experience in the outpatient setting.
