I had a laperescopic hysterectomy on the 12th of September 2016 at Epsom General hospital. It was performed by Ms.Katy Ammar. I felt very comfortable with her as she explained to me all about the procedure and listened to my concerns very well. She was trying in her best to do everything as soon as possible to make me comfortable. After the procedure I had minimal post operative discomfort which I couldn't believe and I'm fully recovered now. I thank her and her team for giving my normal life back. I'm very lucky to have treated by Ms Katy and I highy recommend her to any body as her care is excellent.

I had a laparoscopy and salpingectomy on 1at August which was performed by Dr Ammar. Unfortunately she was not the consultant I had seen prior but felt very comfortable with her. Before the operation I was only having a cyst removed. Dr Ammar explained to me the procedure and if she found it necessary to remove anything else she would do so. In the end I also needed a salpingectomy. During my follow up appointment all was explained by Dr Ammar and I am very happy with the outcome.

I was treated at Leatherhead Hospital by Miss Ammar and her team earlier this month in the hysteroscopy clinic. My procedure was originally offered under general anesthetic due to the surgery required for removal of 2 large polyps, but on discussion with Katy, she was confident that it was indeed possible with local anaesthetic in her clinic. I was so grateful for her attitude and real reflection of patient choice. The procedure went very smoothly with full support and care from the whole team. I had minimal post operative discomfort. I can highly recommend Miss Ammar for her empathy and understanding which she has shown on both occasions when I have required treatment. Thank you!

I am relieved to have found Dr Ammar as her care is truly excellent. Dr Ammar took the time to discuss my options and answer my (many) questions so that I was confident about what should be done and why. She also went out of her way to make sure that arrangements could be made for the appropriate investigations to be done as quickly as possible. I was particularly concerned about having a hysteroscopy/biopsy procedure because I had had a rather poor experience of it in the past. In this previous case I had been booked to have the procedure without much discussion. It was done in a large hospital with a particularly experienced consultant – where despite being given a local anaesthetic it was very uncomfortable and was discontinued because of the pain. I was told afterwards that I was a difficult case as I had not had children and was post-menopausal. However, my experience with Dr Ammar could not have been more different. From the outset she took the time to discuss my concerns, and gave me the confidence to try it again, as it was clearly the right course of action. My trust in her was entirely justified. She was so highly skilled at the procedure that she was able to complete it quickly and with amazingly little discomfort. What is more, she did not even have to use a local anaesthetic. This was way better than I had thought possible given my previous experience – and an enormous relief. I cannot recommend Dr Ammar highly enough. I would add that the experience I had at the Leatherhead facility was excellent. Everyone I dealt with was professional, respectful and caring, and the process of having treatment was well organised.

I am not a great patient when it comes to the type of matters Katy deals with. However, at every appointment and during the procedure I had with her I found her to be extremely approachable and caring. Katy explained everything clearly, but more importantly she listened to my concerns and was honest with me about my options. Also, the team she work with at Leatherhead hospital are just as supportive and caring. I feel very lucky to have been treated by this team.
