By the time I had my hip replacement I was barely able to walk 20 yards and was in constant pain. At each consultation Miss Gill not only listened, examined but carefully and thoroughly explained her particular procedures for hip replacement and her reasons for them. She is meticulous in taking the measurements to ensure equal leg lengths after the operation. I felt confident in her thoroughness and in her skill and expertise. She also instilled self-confidence in myself. The operation has been a great success and my recovery has been rapid with no set-backs. I am so grateful and would unreservedly recommend her.

I have had two hip replacements this year. Prior to being diagnosed I had been reluctant to admit I needed surgery and very apprehensive to have a surgical intervention. Miss Gill and her entire team have been very approachable, able to supply all the answers to my questions and friendly but also professional. She works with a super anaesthetist and the nursing team on the ward are all so caring. When I had my first hip replaced I was very pleasantly surprised by how quickly I could get up and walk, I was home in less than 24 hours and there was excellent pain control ( and no need for even paracetamol after four days.). When I went for my second hip to be done I was not anxious in the slightest……I could hardly wait to get there! Needless to say I am now so grateful to be “back to normal”.

After a left hip operation on 30th May I2022 I was walking adequately without sticks after six weeks and well with eight weeks. I was walking with sticks up the corridor at the Nuffield Hospital, Guildford within 3 hours of the operation and up and down stairs with reasonable ease on the second day with only a slight ache, no pain Kathryn Gill's consulting advice was most helpful from first appointment to the operation and following. Her hospital care through two visits at the Nuffield was also greatly appreciated. Now, four months since my operation I confirm that my walking has progressed in strength month by month.
