I am unfortunate in that I suffer from osteo-arthritis, which has necessitated in me having both knees and hips replaced. Whilst I have been unfortunate in needing these operations, I have been extremely fortunate in being placed in the care of Miss Mackay and operations on all of these replacements have been carried out by her and her team. She is a brilliant surgeon and I cannot speak highly enough of her. If you are to receive treatment by her, consider yourself extremely fortunate.

I saw Miss Mackay in Fracture Clinic after falling down stairs & injuring my wrist. I was very worried because it had been operated on some years ago following a bad mountain biking accident. She was very reassuring and explained everything that showed on my X-rays and how it was alright from the previous surgery. She put everything in terms I could understand easily and made me feel part of the decisions on what to do next. I felt very confident in her knowledge and I couldn’t have asked for a kinder, more caring doctor. I was happy that she discharged me but if I had needed to be seen again, I would hope that it would be her I saw!

I saw miss Mackay today and am extremely grateful for the time she spent with me I have been extremely worried about my progress but having spoken to miss Mackay for the first time today I am feeling much calmer Thank you

I was very impressed with the considerable time Miss Mackay took to explain the pros and cons of the procedure she was to carry out on my little girl. She is extremely approachable and genuine. She embodies everything that is good about the NHS.

Helen and her team did a great job for me with my total hip replacement. Attended out patients clinic today - Walking without sticks for short periods within six weeks.
