I was pleased to see a Consultant who immediately understood why I was attending, and when the examination took place I felt confident in her medical knowledge and expertise.

I saw Miss Ball in connection with a breast lump - she reassured me, sent me for tests and reviewed the results of the tests. Very impressed with her caring attitude

Hello, I was diagnosed with breast cancer early January. Miss Ball and Sue Yates have provided me with 'exceptional' care throughout this process. The timings of dealing with my diagnoses you could not beat. I have excellent private medical cover with my job however the service that Miss Ball and her team provided could not be beaten privately. One week after my cancer being confirmed I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal. I then had a double mastectomy with reconstruction in Feb. This is a significant procedure however the confidence that I had/have with Miss Ball and her team (Sue, her registra, anaesthetist) helped me deal with any issues that I had. Miss Ball is friendly, professional and her explanations are clear, she seems to have all the time you need for any questions you may have. I am so happy to have had Miss Ball leading my care, and she has definitely made this situation a more positive one that it could've been. Ipswich is very lucky to have her.

My experience at Ipswich Hospital began when I was recalled following my routine mammogram. I have been extremely impressed, reassured and treated in such a way that I have had total confidence at every stage of my treatment. The entire process has been handled with speed, efficiency, kindness and unfaltering good humour. I cannot praise Miss Ball; the Breast Clinic; the Physiotherapy Department and all the staff I have come into contact with and who have cared for me, highly enough. The most important thing for me was to have total trust and confidence in my consultant, and this I have had in Miss Ball from my initial appointment with her. Thank you all very much.

I attended with my Mum who was diagnosed with breast cancer and immediately referred to Miss Ball. We were in her clinic within ten minutes. She explained what had been found, reassured my Mum about what would happen next and offered a surgery date within days. She also found time within the consultation to offer some genetic advice for me as a daughter. When we left we felt reassured and in very safe hands. The diagnosis is very distressing but within an hour we both felt a sense that 'all would be well'. Miss Ball was assisted by a breast care nurse, Sue Bates, who was equally excellent and they worked well together. The surgery was completed and all was as had been explained. My mum went home the same day, healed remarkably well and had minimal pain. At all stages of the pathway from biopsy to post-op outpatient appointment there is nothing I would change. Absolutely perfect care.
