When I spoke with Miss Ray about my problem, (frenulum breve) I made it clear from the outset that my problem was based solely with my frenulum, I did not want or need a circumcision and had already researched the different forms of treatment for frenulum breve. These treatments were compiled into a list with a full explanation of each. The treatments on the list were: (In order of least invasive) Frenulum Tying Frenuloplasty Frenulectomy/Frenectomy Partial Circumcision Circumcision Because having a circumcision is no joke and completely irreversible, I wanted to avoid circumcision and only use it as an absolute last resort. When I saw Miss Ray, she spoke about dorsal slits, frenuloplasty and circumcision. I told her of my concerns regarding circumcision, that it would reduce the sensitivity in my penis for the rest of my life. I then handed Miss Ray my list of treatments and a printout of this website: https://www.male-initiation.net/library/gallery/frenuloplasty/frenulum_tying.html Miss Ray did not look at the paper that was held out to her, if anything, she seemed mildly irritated that I wanted something other than a circumcision. Instead of reading through the sheet I had shown her, she told me that any treatment I receive depends on what she suggests. Miss Ray then did not examine me correctly. She did not pull my foreskin back all the way and thus she didn't see that it actually can retract over the head of the glans penis. (Phimosis is a condition where the foreskin can NOT be retracted) Miss Ray handed me this leaflet: https://www.baus.org.uk/_userfiles/pages/files/Patients/Leaflets/Circumcision.pdf She pointed me to page: 3 "After-Effects" point 2: "Increased sensitivity of the head of your penis which can last for up to two weeks" She told me that I "May even gain sensitivity" from having a circumcision while pointing me towards this point. I fail to see how the agonising pain; in any way, constitutes an incentive for me to want a circumcision. I found this to be quite misleading. This experience has completely undermined my trust in the NHS. When I returned home, I pointed out to Miss Ray that she had not examined me correctly as she had not pulled my foreskin back all the way. I was never re-examined. She re-iterated a circumcision despite not examining me correctly in the first place. In the end I asked Miss Ray to pass me on to someone else, even then; she tried to influence other doctors' opinions by re-iterating her misdiagnosis to them even though she did not examine me correctly. Miss Ray could improve upon her service by listening to her patients' concerns, examining them properly and not misleading patients into getting treatments they might not even need. If you want to keep your foreskin, search elsewhere.

On 8-March I had a TURP operation completed by Miss Eleanor Ray at KIMS. I initially met her at Darenth Valley Hospital where she explained the procedure to me, gave me alternative options and put my mind at ease. She gave me quality time to explain things and did not rush me in any way. I felt my quality of care was excellent and Miss Ray is an absolute professional who inspires confidence. She answered all my queries and questions without making me feel awkward. For anyone else considering a TURP, I have had no pain and it has been so much less traumatic than I ever thought possible. So far I am pleased that I went ahead with the procedure.

Miss Ray explained everything and listened to my concerns and I was put at ease by her care there really should be more doctors like her that listen and treat you the best way for you and not just by the book like many other doctors still under her care and cannot praise her enough
