Miss Mukhaphyay is the most wonderful, caring and perceptive doctor! I have developed great trust in her, something I find very hard to do with the medical profession. There is nothing I wouldn’t ask her. Thank you Miss Mukhaphyay for outstanding care!!!

The doctor was very professional and supportive. She is a good listener and made you feel comfortable and helped me feel less tensed. I would like to say a massive thank you for looking after me.

When my Mum was diagnosed with womb cancer on 1st May 2019, we met with Miss Mukhopadhyay and her wonderful support nurses (Louise and Mandy. At such an awful time this wonderful team could not have been more supportive, Miss Mukhopadhyay patiently talked us through Mum's treatment plan and Louise was on hand to offer additional support and advice to both of us. When Mum went in for her surgery a few weeks later she could not have been in better hands - the care she received and the kindness shown to her by the entire gynae/oncology team was excellent. Miss Mukhopadhyay not only performed the operation but made herself available to Mum both before and after the operation providing reassurance and advice throughout the whole process. Thank you so much for everything you have done for my Mum to date. See you next week for her results (fingers crossed ...) Karen Spencer

Profile

I have been accredited as an obstetrician and gynaecologist by RCOG and received my certificate of completion of training in 2013. After qualifying as a doctor in India, I undertook my postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the UK. I did my initial years of training in Nottingham University Hospitals. It was a very fulfilling experience for me that honed my skills both surgically and in gaining a better understanding of the patient's expectations.

During my registrar training in the East of England Deanery where the main university was Cambridge, I completed my advanced training specialist module in gynaecological oncology. I also dedicated a year at St George's University Hospital, intensely specialising in open and minimal access surgery for gynaecological oncology. In this time, I have been trained by some really remarkable people who have helped me develop skills and purpose that I treasure to this day. I have presented in many national and international conferences.

My extensive experience has made me competent in a wide range of gynaecological problems.

Currently, I am a Consultant at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in Essex. Within my NHS post, I specialise in detection and treatment of early gynaecological cancers: endometrial, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. I am qualified to perform hysteroscopy, Novasure and both open and laparoscopic surgeries for benign conditions like fibroids and early cancers.

I am a RCOG accredited colposcopist and perform colposcopy to diagnose and treat pre-cancer under local anaesthesia where appropriate.

My expertise is in the management of post-menopausal bleeding, abnormal vaginal bleeding, ovarian cysts, suspicious vulval disorders and menopause.

I can speak Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali.
