Ms Clare Rees was absolutely wonderful - professional, attentive and caring. We now know how lucky we were to have someone like Ms Rees on call that night as she went beyond the call of duty to make sure that our son had world class care. When we arrived with our 9 month old boy into GOSH at 11pm we had no idea how serious his situation was and had Ms Rees not been there, with her incredible staff, at such an incredible hospital, at such a late hour we dare not think what would have happened. THE DETAILS Ms. Rees observed our son's non surgical procedure at 1:30am, so that when it unfortunately failed, she and her team could quickly get ready for surgery. They explained with patience and clarity the pro's and con's of the surgery and reassured us with the strategy and steps to be taken during surgery. We requested to be informed of the surgery's progress, which was respected and we got a knock on the door at 3:30am. Once surgery was successfully concluded at 5am, Ms. Rees herself came over to notify us of all that has occurred and next steps. During the next few days at the hospital, each day Ms. Rees came to visit our son and check for his well being. Throughout this difficult ordeal, we felt our son was getting the best care possible. All our questions and concerns were answered in a clear and patient manner. We now know the situation was life threatening and Ms Rees and her team saved our son's life.
