I have suffered from heavy and painful periods for over 6 years due to fibroids. I had different treatments in the past but unfortunately my situation didn’t improve, I only experienced temporarily relief. Recently I sought further medical help under the care of Anita. Anita not just listened to my situation but she understood how I felt and how desperate I was to find a definite solution. Anita explained the options available to me. In the end I opted to have a hysterectomy. Anita performed the surgery and I have been recovering very well. I didn’t have any complications during surgery, my wound was carefully done and small for an abdominal hysterectomy. Anita visited me a couple of times during my stay at the hospital to make sure I was doing well. The whole experience went much better than I expected. I can’t recommend Anita enough!, if I had the chance to travel back in time, I would have contacted Anita 6 years ago and have the surgery done with her. I feel that having this surgery has been the best decision for me and I am very grateful I was under the care of such an experienced consultant.

I went to see Ms Dutta with severe menopausal symptoms. I have a bit of a complex gynae history but felt listened too with thorough tests conducted. Ms Dutta is just so good and I would truly recommend her

Miss Dutta is fabulous. After attending Broomfield Hospital Colposcopy Clinic for nine years and constantly asking for a hysterectomy, she said yes. For nine years I had only seen male gynaecologists who were totally unsympathetic and basically brushed aside my requests, and after a really bad experience with Mr Spencer, I said I would only see a female in future, I was referred to Miss Dutta. She was completely understanding from the first meeting and offered a hysterectomy straight away after looking at my notes. I cannot praise her enough. Kind, understanding, gentle and an actual doctor who listens. I cannot speak highly enough of her.

Miss Dutta took the time to explain the options I had in relation to a very large fibroid and ovarian cyst, and to answer my questions. We agreed a plan of action and waited for the operation to be scheduled. Unfortunately my health deteriorated rapidly and I was admitted to hospital on an emergency basis requiring Miss Dutta to attend hospital to review the situation urgently on a Sunday evening, then conduct the operation with her team first thing the next morning - a complicated operation due to my BMI. The operation was successful and there was no damage to other organs (Miss Dutta ensured post-operative imaging was undertaken to understand and confirm this). I also received prompt written confirmation of the histology findings once they were available. Miss Dutta was honest but reassuring and confident when presented with an emergency situation to resolve, and presented the risks and mitigations to my husband and I. There is also a strong team supporting Miss Dutta both surgically and in the Gynecology ward. In terms of suggestions for improvement I can only say 'more of the same please', and perhaps development of a tiny bit more empathy when communicating with patients with BMI challenges - but this is 'cherry on top' stuff. Thanks to Miss Dutta and everyone in her team who supported me through this health issue, you are all amazing.

Miss Anita Dutta is a truly wonderful, kind and gentle person. She took time to listen, and she answered all the questions I had. She was incredibly patient and explained everything slowly so I could understand all about my surgery. She also came to see me in my room after surgery to explain everything she had done. She then followed up with an appointment a few weeks later where again she was extremely patient discussing next steps for me. I have made a fantastic recovery and have felt so well cared for throughout, by Miss Dutta. Thank you.
