In October 2016 I had an Inguinal hernia repair by Mr Kurzer. I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment received by Mr Kurzer, Dr V Brown the anaesthetist and all the staff at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.
His manner was professional and sympathetic to my needs and am extremely satisfied with the results.
My wife was suffering from an egg-sized hernia protruding from her right lower abdomen. Mr Kurzer carried out a detailed consultation and clearly explained how he would deal with it, in a meeting that was both pleasant and reassuring for her. A week later, he undertook the procedure to repair it, the result of which has been entirely positive. She went into Hospital at 1.00pm, rested in her room for a while and went into the theatre at 5.00pm. The anaesthetist explained that only a local anaesthetic would be needed, which reduced the post-op side effects. She was back up in her room shortly after 6.00pm, enjoyed a pain-free evening and slept well, needing only a couple of Paracetemol through the night. Mr Kurzer came to see her the next morning and declared her fit to go home. We left after breakfast, and my wife was well enough to resume her normal life that day.
This was all much less traumatic than we had feared and my wife is very grateful to Mr Kurzer for resolving a serious problem which, up to that point, had been poorly handled by the NHS.
Equally important to being treated so professionally by Mr Kurzer is that he also ensured that the entire process, from our initial contact through to leaving the hospital, was well organised, efficient and as personal to my wife's needs as you could wish for. I am writing this on her behalf because, following a stroke some years ago, she has a little difficulty expressing herself, but she is in complete agreement with everything said in these comments.
The best recommendation I can give Mr Kurzer is to say I just wish i had seen him two years earlier when I developed my Hernia that five stars for the above should be more
from a very happy and satisfied

Martin Kurzer performed a RHS hernia procedure on me under local anaesthetic last week. He is, from consultation to after-care, an exceptional practitioner who took great time and trouble to make sure that I was fully appraised of every aspect of the operation and the post-operative period. He is a wonderfully personable doctor; calming, reassuring and without doubt a superb surgeon.
I had a LHS procedure some time prior and can say categorically that Dr. Kurzer provided care so very much higher than that I had received in the past. He was thorough and meticulous at every stage of this procedure and followed up with text messages to see how I was getting on after the surgery. This is unprecedented in my experience. All in all Martin Kurzer and his superb team made the experience of my hernia repair as comfortable as possible and I would recommend him (and them) 100% to anyone needing similar treatment. Hi my name is Romolo, I found Martin Kurzer to be extremely professional, before, during and after my hernia operation. I felt reassured from my first consultation I had with him that the operation would be a success and it was.
I would highly recommend Martin as a surgeon as I feel he genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his patients. I feel the cost is well worth it as having peace of mind is priceless. Also I found St Johns and Elizabeth's hospital nurses to be very helpful, efficient, friendly and professional.
