Mr.Kurzer was recommended by a friend who had experienced traumatic agony during/after his first hernia surgery at his local hospital. He thus explored and opted for a different surgeon/hospital for his second hernia. So, hence my consultation/surgery with "The Mesh Maestro". What an absolutely brilliant team he has organised at The St.John And St. Elizabeth Hospital. I could not be happier : with the day of the surgery and the after care/advice from Mr.Kurzer. He should be knighted for his hernia curing/surgical expertise.

I had a hernia and Martin was highly recommended. This is what Martin does and he is a master of his profession. Always answered my email quickly and put my mind at ease as I had lots of concerns. Decided I wanted to be in recovery mode rather than waiting for the operation and he saw me quickly.

Mr Kurzer is, without doubt, a hugely experienced and knowledgeable expert in the treatment of hernias. That he conveys that expertise in a clear, unambiguous, and reassuring manner meant that from his initial diagnosis through to his surgery to repair my hernia, I was completely at ease and had full confidence in his advice and work. I cannot speak too highly of the treatment he provided or of the contribution of his support team. As someone who is, at best, apprehensive about any type of surgery, I consider myself very fortunate to have found such a caring and able consultant. So pleased with the results.

From 'flash to bang' diagnosis to procedure it took about 4 weeks to deal with my inguinal hernia. (open under local anaesthesia). Martin was open, empathetic and communicative. He had a great rapport with his team and the whole procedure was conducted efficiently and with clear expertise. I had no qualms during the procedure and he explained everything as he went along. He clearly prefers the open techniques and having now had the procedure I would struggle to see how a laparoscopic approach could be as effective. I haven't got back on my road cycle yet but that is down to the awful weather and roads. He is a 'top man'. I am really pleased that I found him and you van be sure that you are in safe hands.

Martin was instantly sympathetic, diagnosed my hernia (previously mis-diagnosed by the NHS) and offered me an op at a very early date. On the day he, and all the team, displayed a fine blend of care and efficiency. He followed up by telephone two days later to make sure all was well. It was! Thankyou.
