Dr Vishal Luther was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2025 for delivering outstanding care.
Consultant Heart Rhythm Specialist based at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital & Spire Liverpool
I have just left my first appointment with Dr Luther and I can honestly say I was a little emotional but in a good way. I was so overwhelmed I had a few tears of happiness. Thatās never happened to me before so I wanted to praise Dr Luther immediately for the way he treated me throughout the appointment, from his bedside manner to his professional knowledge, he was fantasticā¦but the fact that he communicated with me through visual representation and anecdotal analogies really turned my entire life around in just one appointment. He didnāt throw labels around left and right, he explained everything in the most unique and interesting way and throughout the appointment he cared enough to check that I understood what he was explaining to me. To sit down with Dr Luther and have someone of his professional experience ensure that I know as much as possible about my situation has changed everything for me. There were too many highlights of my appointment to mention, but some outstanding moments for me occurred when Dr Luther voluntarily (and literally!) drew the connection between my heart, Orthostatic hypotension, debilitating exhaustion and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. For anyone who has EDS, youāll understand that every Consultant shies away from Ehlers Danlos and Dysautonomia (heart, brain, nervous system connection/conditions) but to my absolute surprise and delight Dr Luther didnāt run from the topic, he walked into the conversation willingly and he took my mum and I with him whilst he explained the complexity of the situation and even drew diagrams I could read and understand (not easy with a patient who has dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia). Another highlight I must mention is that he was honest and pragmatic! He explained that itās something Iāll have to live with, there is no cureā¦it can and does get worseā¦but then he told me all the ways I can help myself (all of which I already do as theyāre the same for EDS and OH) but that made me respect him even more because he wasnāt throwing medication at me, suggesting putting me through unnecessary surgery or treatments etc. He was honest, realistic and reassuringly he acknowledged how awful this condition is but he also took the words out of my mouth when he said āYes itās chronic and debilitating, but some days are good and some will be bad but you can manage it and youāre doing all the right thingsā. I have never felt so understood as a person and a patient in my life. Dr Luther isnāt your average Cardiologist, believe me, heās a rare find with exceptional knowledge and a passion for ensuring his patients understand their health, their condition, and how to manage it in the least invasive way. Thank you Dr Luther, I look forward to my next appointment with you and I canāt wait to hear how you explain the results from my home monitor!

My symptoms were becoming increasing unbearable to the point where if I sat down I would fall asleep. I Just felt constantly exhausted as well as breathlessness and just feeling crap. My doctor referred me Dr Luther @broadgreen hospital. I was lucky to get a cancellation for ablation in December 2023 performed by dr Luther who was absolutely amazing from the moment I met him when he offered me this to the moment he discharged me April 2025 I would just like to say a big thank you to him and his team He literally gave me back my lifeā¦

Living on the Isle of Man our health service has links with the NHS particularly in the North West Region. I had been suffering with Atrial Fibrillation for some time and only being treated on the Isle of Man by Manx Care with a Doctor who was not a Cardiologist, I was referred to LHC hospital in 2023 and from my first meeting with Dr Vishal Luther, I felt sure that he and his team would take my condition seriously and could correctly diagnose and treat my symptoms. Within 6 weeks of my first consultation after checking the results of a worn monitor posted back to the team a plan was put in place to treat me by an ablation procedure. During a consultation the procedure was discussed along with the risks and possible fail rates for the different types of ablations. I was given a date for the procedure within the 6 weeks and the Cryoablation was carried out. Now more than 12 months on from the procedure, I can report I've not experienced any AF since the procedure and have been discharged from care at LHC hospital. Thank you Dr Luther and your team for treating and sorting my AF for the time being, as there's no guarantee it won't be triggered and return later.

I have presented with AF for almost 40 years. Episodes were increasing during the past few years and my quality of life was greatly impeded. I was previously offered Ablation but I was unsure following the treatment of a family member, which proved unsuccessful . Following my admission to The Royal Hospital, Liverpool in September 2023, Dr Zac Robbins, referred me to Dr Luther, to discuss my condition. I met Dr Luther in March 2024, he discussed the procedure and outlined the risks involved, and having considered my overall health, he felt confident that ablation was the most appropriate course of action. My procedure was carried out in April 2024 at LHCH, and to date I have had no recurrence of my symptoms. I found Dr Luther to be very informative, easy to talk to and very reassuring. My wife and I felt very confident in his ability, he was able to put our minds at ease and made time to answer our questions thoughtfully. My follow up appointment in clinic, August 2024, continued to reassure me that I had made the correct decision and thanks to Dr Luther I will remain on the Patient initiated Pathway for the following 12 months. My quality of life has improved significantly and I am able to resume the active life which I share with my wife and family.

I had my ablation for A Fib 4 months ago. It was performed by Dr Luther and it has been a complete success. I have not had a single episode since the procedure and feel so much better both physically and mentally. Dr Luther is so kind and explains everything to you in a way you can understand. For anyone considering an ablation I would say go for it, it has changed my life, it could for you too.

From the start Dr.Luther explained all my options in a very understandable way,He consulted with another dept.to make sure that a procedure that I had on my diaphragm would not have an impact on the proposed ablation He outlined the benefits but also the dangers, I had the ablation procedure in Feb. 2024 and now in July I have been for the first check up and my heart is in normal rhythm. I'd like to say a big thank you to Dr.Luther in fact a big thank you to all the staff at Broadgreen Hospital

I had an ablation under Dr Luther for AVNRT in May 2024 at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. Throughout the whole process from initial consultation to the procedure, Dr Luther was professional, caring and very understanding of the effect it was having on my life being a fit and active 27 year old. The procedure was curative and he put me ease throughout the whole experience. I am now able to get on with my triathlon training! Thank you Dr Luther!

I recently was admitted to Liverpool heart and chest hospital where Doctor Luther and his team performed a ischemic VT ablation. The hospital ran like clockwork and I can't thank Doctor Luther and his numerous colleagues enough. Doctor Luther went out of his way to explain fully, but simply, everything about the procedure and I felt confident in his hands, after initially feeling very nervous. The whole team were brilliant. I definitely had 5 star treatment, even receiving homemade delicious coconut cake half an hour after the op from Doctor Ali. Thankyou for all your efforts. I have no hesitation in giving you and your team 5 stars.
