I have just left my first appointment with Dr Luther and I can honestly say I was a little emotional but in a good way. I was so overwhelmed I had a few tears of happiness. That’s never happened to me before so I wanted to praise Dr Luther immediately for the way he treated me throughout the appointment, from his bedside manner to his professional knowledge, he was fantastic…but the fact that he communicated with me through visual representation and anecdotal analogies really turned my entire life around in just one appointment. He didn’t throw labels around left and right, he explained everything in the most unique and interesting way and throughout the appointment he cared enough to check that I understood what he was explaining to me. To sit down with Dr Luther and have someone of his professional experience ensure that I know as much as possible about my situation has changed everything for me. There were too many highlights of my appointment to mention, but some outstanding moments for me occurred when Dr Luther voluntarily (and literally!) drew the connection between my heart, Orthostatic hypotension, debilitating exhaustion and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. For anyone who has EDS, you’ll understand that every Consultant shies away from Ehlers Danlos and Dysautonomia (heart, brain, nervous system connection/conditions) but to my absolute surprise and delight Dr Luther didn’t run from the topic, he walked into the conversation willingly and he took my mum and I with him whilst he explained the complexity of the situation and even drew diagrams I could read and understand (not easy with a patient who has dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia). Another highlight I must mention is that he was honest and pragmatic! He explained that it’s something I’ll have to live with, there is no cure…it can and does get worse…but then he told me all the ways I can help myself (all of which I already do as they’re the same for EDS and OH) but that made me respect him even more because he wasn’t throwing medication at me, suggesting putting me through unnecessary surgery or treatments etc. He was honest, realistic and reassuringly he acknowledged how awful this condition is but he also took the words out of my mouth when he said “Yes it’s chronic and debilitating, but some days are good and some will be bad but you can manage it and you’re doing all the right things”. I have never felt so understood as a person and a patient in my life. Dr Luther isn’t your average Cardiologist, believe me, he’s a rare find with exceptional knowledge and a passion for ensuring his patients understand their health, their condition, and how to manage it in the least invasive way. Thank you Dr Luther, I look forward to my next appointment with you and I can’t wait to hear how you explain the results from my home monitor!

I was diagnosed with af April 2023 im fit and healthy and this was a complete literal shock to my system. My symptoms were becoming increasing unbearable to the point where if I sat down I would fall asleep. I Just felt constantly exhausted as well as breathlessness and just feeling crap. My doctor referred me Dr Luther @broadgreen hospital. I was lucky to get a cancellation for ablation in December 2023 performed by dr Luther who was absolutely amazing from the moment I met him when he offered me this to the moment he discharged me April 2025 I would just like to say a big thank you to him and his team He literally gave me back my life…

Living on the Isle of Man our health service has links with the NHS particularly in the North West Region. I had been suffering with Atrial Fibrillation for some time and only being treated on the Isle of Man by Manx Care with a Doctor who was not a Cardiologist, I was referred to LHC hospital in 2023 and from my first meeting with Dr Vishal Luther, I felt sure that he and his team would take my condition seriously and could correctly diagnose and treat my symptoms. Within 6 weeks of my first consultation after checking the results of a worn monitor posted back to the team a plan was put in place to treat me by an ablation procedure. During a consultation the procedure was discussed along with the risks and possible fail rates for the different types of ablations. I was given a date for the procedure within the 6 weeks and the Cryoablation was carried out. Now more than 12 months on from the procedure, I can report I've not experienced any AF since the procedure and have been discharged from care at LHC hospital. Thank you Dr Luther and your team for treating and sorting my AF for the time being, as there's no guarantee it won't be triggered and return later.
