Dr Mailoo cared for my daughter yesterday who was having surgery due to her Chronic condition. My daughter has serious difficulties with collapsing veins, scar tissue and mental health due to enduring many difficult procedures from birth ( she is also incredibly strong and calm under pressure). Dr Mailoo’s understanding, care, humour and skill meant that her first experience of surgery as an adult in hospital at a time when access for relatives is restricted made her experience so much better than it might have been and I know will aid her recovery too. He really went the extra mile or ten! Thank you .

Dr venthan mailoo is an outstanding doctor im so glad to have been within his care at some point during this daunting stay. I was admitted to hospital with 3 bad breaks and dislocation in my left ankle I eventually after having the discolation fixed was casted up for the night ready for surgery the following day. Surgery day arrives and I am very nervous the moment I met Dr mailoo my nerves became scared of me!! I felt so much better I was overwhelmed trying to decide wether or not to stay awake or be put too sleep And he sat with me weighed up all the pros and cons for both procedures and helped me to come to a conscious decision that I could then feel comfortable about he really does go the extra mile for his patients including talking too me sitting with me comforting me before and all throughout my procedure we spoke about life and jobs, we looked at available jobs together on indeed that I'm interested in within the health industry too, he was just all round a fantastic distraction from what was happening too Me and it is exactly what you need in a time like that it's clear he is devoted to his job and his patients and there's no doubt in my mind that if more doctors acted in the ways of Dr venthan mailoo more and more people would have a strengthened faith in the healthcare system would like to end on a massive thankyou to Dr mailoo and all the other staff I had the pleasure of meeting during my stay at the Royal Derby hospital my care went so well and it's all down to your calming caring personalities.

Venthan is a conscientious doctor who works well within the team. He has good clinical knowledge and escalates appropriately to senior colleagues. He is competent and safe, and is very caring towards his patients.

My son was admitted to Lincoln ICU following a neurological crisis . He has a very rare genetic liver disease and I was very impressed with Dr. Mailoos knowledge of the condition. He had obviously taken the time to research the condition and was able to explain to a family member very clearly in easy to understand language all about it. The time he spent with us was very much appreciated and reassuring at a very stressful time.
