I worked with Dr. Hillman for 2 years in a Clinical Support tole in Lincoln County Hospital. When I decided to return to Australia I wanted a reference to take with me in order to help me obtain a good position on my return. I could have asked a number of doctors at the time but Dr. Toby was my choice because during the time that I worked with him, I found him to be an excellent doctor, very caring and with a wonderful reassuring manner. All of his patients were so happy being in his care and I was delighted to have had the opportunity to work with him. I am very happy to note his well deserved success and although I have now retired, I will follow his career with great interest. He is a great asset to any medical institution.

I saw Dr Hillman at UCLH and found him to be very caring and thorough. He has a patient centred approach and involves you in all the decisions he makes regarding your care. You could not wish to be in better hands. I had a complex history which he took the time to investigate and acquired imaging from another hospital to ensure he had all the information available to do his very best for me.

Excellent care from Dr Hillman: a friendly, obviously knowledgeable doctor who listens carefully, explains clearly, and answers questions easily and straightforwardly. He demonstrates exactly the sort of manner that everyone would like to expect from their doctor: engaging, thoughtful, down-to-earth, respectful. I feel very confident being under his care.

My father in law was seen by Dr Hillman, in the AMU. I cannot speak highly enough of him. He took time to explain everything to us, reassure us and made us feel that there were no other patients in the hospital who were more important. He was able to answer our questions and his team made arrangements for my father in law to be seen by his colleagues in other hospitals. He has the best bedside/chairside manner I have experienced (and I used to be a nurse!) For the first time in ages, we have confidence in the NHS and really feel that Dad is going to get the right treatment for his symptoms. I hope that he is able to pass on his expertise to his junior colleagues and that they do their best to emulate him. He is a credit to UCLH and to the NHS
