Written by a patient at The John Radcliffe
20th November 2015

Was referred to this doctor with fatigue, joint and muscle pain, recurrent fevers, recurrent abdominal pain, and peripheral neuropathy. He told me there was nothing wrong with me, that it was all in the mind and it was stress. I was subsequently admitted to hospital a few months later with gall stones which needed removing, then had an emergency gynae admission due to undiagnosed endometriosis sticking bowed and uterus together, and as a result of further investigations with other consultants was also diagnosed with pernicious anaemia (could have been fatal if not picked up, as it is I suffered irreversible neurological damage) and then Bile salt malabsorption. So much for there being nothing wrong with me when I saw him. He was arrogant and uncaring, didn't listen and mostly importantly was totally wrong.
