Dr Thang Han listened to me and suggested a solution to my GP to enable a referral to the correct department. Thank you so much to Dr Han! I really think he has saved my life

For very many years I have been grateful to receive the care of this extremely kind and encouraging doctor who has patiently explained every step in his recommendations for the control of my diabetes type 2 and encouraged my proactive involvement in my condition. He has been at pains to explain the potential interaction of other medications I have been prescribed. The only way in which I believe his care could be improved would be for him to be able to make face-to-face consultations with his patients - which is impossible unless a patient is actually admitted for inpatient care. Under the current ruling, inexplicably the endocrinologists are unable to arrange anything other than telephone or 'virtual' consultations. I am hopeful that this can be reviewed urgently in the near future and revert to face-to-face consultations which worked far more effectively for patients in the pre-Covid-19 era.

I was referred to Dr Han for amenhorrea, which I had been experiencing alongside a range of other symptoms including persistent weight loss and gradual progressive visual field loss. I explained this combination of symptoms to Dr Han at each telephone consultation, and he diagnosed me as 'a stressful person' and told me that if I ate more my symptoms would resolve. On several occasions I explicitly explained to Dr Han that I was concerned my symptoms were being caused by something in my brain - such as a tumour or aneurysm. He dismissed my concerns and said 'if I had an aneurysm I'd be dead by now'. A few months later (after years of seeking help from various medical professionals, and being forced to self-present at a London A&E in desperation) I was finally diagnosed with a Craniopharyngioma brain tumour. As an endocrinologist, Dr Han should have been acutely aware of the combination of symptoms characteristic of pituitary tumours (something a quick google search would show!). Instead, Dr Han failed to listen to my concerns or to take them seriously - and at points actively dismissed me - which ultimately led to further delay in my diagnosis and the worsening of my symptoms including vision loss. I would not trust or recommend this doctor to others.

Listened to patient and myself carefully and responded considerately the patient's concerns which mitigated anxiety and helped find good solutions. Wonderful and reassuring - great service.

After having serious issues following a medication change, I was told by this Dr to "stop calling the office as it was a waste of time". He told me over the phone he would change my medication again and then at the appointment we arranged, he said no and to carry on with what I was on even though it wasn't working properly. At my appoitment I had no weight or blood pressure check which are essential, and was in and out with no advice. My advice? DON'T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR YOUR DIABETES CARE! I have cancelled my appointment and won't be going back there, ever.
