I am writing this on behalf of my husband who saw Dr Barber a few months ago, had I known about this site then I would of completed a review right away. My husband rang the surgery on a Friday Morning to get an appointment, this would be the first time in five years my husband needed medical attention, by the time he got through to the surgery there were no appointments left so he was offered an emergency appointment, this was not a life or death situation but it certainly would not wait until the following Monday so he booked an emergency appointment. He was called by Dr Barber and asked why he was there, my husband explained that he had a very sore throat and was finding it difficult to eat and drink, Dr Barber replied "This is an emergency appointment, I thought you must be having a stroke". Had my husband been having a stroke he would not be ringing a GP surgery but attending the A&E department!! Dr Barber was so patronising and rude that my husband very nearly walked out of the surgery, Dr Barber did examine him after a lecture about emergency appointments and pointing out the certificates on his wall regarding his experience (not appropriate). My husband was diagnosed with tonsillitis and prescribed antibiotics. Whilst we appreciate that this was not life or death, my husband was in a lot of discomfort and most likely would have needed to attend an out of hours service or A&E over the weekend had he not been seen by Dr Barber. Dr Barber should be ashamed of the way he reacted and see the bigger picture, the appointment could have been over in less than two minutes but he decided to be rude and difficult! Never again!

No compassion, I would go as far as saying Dr Barber is rude, he does not listen and after the last appointment I had to seek medical attention elsewhere and it was a good job that I did! I wish Dr Glover and Dr Kittle were still there, they were the best! I would rather go to t a walk in centre than see Dr Barber ever again.
