Doctor Ram and his team are outstanding, the care and knowledge put me at ease straight away, and had confidence in the ability for him to carry out the procedure. Also the post operative procedure was excellent, as I was informed every step of the way with all questions answered. I would high recommend Dr Ram and his knowledge as my diagnosis was swiftly identified and dealt with. Recommendations also for the Spire facilities, everything 1st class.

I have been under the care of Dr Ram for the last number of months now. I have quite a complex issue relating to my bowel and bladder. He wanted to carry out a number of tests including MRI, CT scan, Colonscopy and an MRI proctogram and found I had long redundant colon and rectocele. I am currently still working with Dr Ram, however due to the condition he has referred me on to someone else who can hopefully resolve my issue. Dr Ram still keeps in regular contact with me, which I feel is a great support and going over and above in helping me to be able to live a normal life again. I would recommend Dr Ram to anyone dealing with issues especially of this nature as it has been a difficult topic for me to discuss, however, Dr Ram has made me feel completely comfortable and not at all embarrassed about my issues. I would also like to say his secretary Debbie is wonderful! she keeps up to date with everything and nothing is too much trouble on the multiple occasions I have had to call and gets back to me very quickly. If you are nervous about your situation, then please don't be! Dr Ram is great!

I am a young, fit and healthy woman, and discovered I had chronic anaemia (iron deficiency as my haemoglobin was at 84 and my Ferritin levels at 4, so both significantly low) on a routine private health assessment. I had no obvious symptoms of anaemia, and I would have never took myself to the doctors if it wasn’t for the results of my blood test. I immediately went online in search of a consultant who would be able to explain my anaemia and I could not have chosen a better one in Dr Ram! The minute I met with Dr Ram, he put any worry to the back of mine and my family’s mind. He asked me questions about my diet and lifestyle and explained clearly 1) the investigatory route he was planning to take and 2) what he was looking for, in a simplistic and comprehensible way. He initially examined my stomach and felt for my kidneys (which I thought was amazing!), sent my bloods off to test for coeliac, referred me for an MRI of the large bowel, administered an iron infusion, undertook gastroscopy & colonoscopy procedures under general anaesthetic and finally carried out a capsule endoscopy. Luckily, all results came back clear! My case is a rare one - Dr Ram carried out every test possible and there has been no explanation in any of the results as to why my iron levels dropped so much. Dr Ram has now advised for me to have 3 monthly blood tests for the next year and every year thereafter. Looking back, my energy levels were much lower than they are now and my fitness has also improved significantly following my iron infusion. I am thrilled that my anaemia has been treated, investigated and now monitored by Dr Ram, to ensure my body stays healthy and avoids any long term health implications. Thank you Dr Ram for being the most approachable, illustrative and trustworthy consultant that I think there is!

Dr Ram is a life saver! I had a Colonoscopy at Leighton, all fine - long story short no cancer detected but suspected lymphocytic colitis. Went to see Dr. Ram and he is the only Dr who asked the "right" questions!!! He covered everything, questions about my lifestyle, exercise, diet, alcohol consumption, stress levels, job - literally everything! After a long consultation with me (he gave my husband and I over 45 mins) - something I've never had before, we decided to repeat the Colonoscopy to see what was really going on! Turns out no sign of colitis, everything came back 100% clear. I was taking a load of vitamins / supplements (which was the culprit) for my horrific bowel / gut problems / excessive diarrhea over the last 10 months! Dr Ram mentioned this the first time I saw him and recommended I stop everything with immediate effect. I was so shocked when 2 weeks later my toilet habits had returned back to normal. I was overloading my body with collagen / all sorts of vitamins trying to stay healthy! The second I cut out everything - I became well again! If it wasn't for Dr. Ram explaining that I didn't need any of the "over the shelf" healthy / instagram stuff I would still be in a right old mess. I would recommend Dr. Ram 100 times over. Really lovely guy and knows his stuff - not afraid to look at the whole picture rather than just trying to treat the problem you go to see him with.

I came to see Dr Ramakrishnan after having some rectal bleeding and concerns over my bowels. He was very professional and listened to my concerns and made me feel at ease. I proceeded in having a colonoscopy shortly after my first consultation. The whole team in the endoscopy unit were great, very calm and reassuring throughout the whole procedure. It was a bit daunting at first but I can’t believe how well it went. Dr Ramakrishnan is very thorough and gentle so the whole procedure was pain free and I felt calm throughout. Brilliant care all through out the whole experience.
