Ive been a patient for well over 12 years now and would not be happy seeing anyone else. When ive been admitted he has come to see me regardless of time, he listens, he understands, doesn’t brush you off, he is extremely knowledgeable and I can contact him at any time as i have a very complex condition to which i have shared care with Professor D Sanders at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. They both are very good at their job and very knowledgeable, I completely trust both of them and would highly recommend them to anyone who is suffering with Gastro health conditions. I would be totally lost if i didnt have these guys around, as they are the only ones in Britain who fully understand my condition and they always confirm with each other on any changes, i have Type 1 Refractory Coeliac Disease which is rare but comes with other heath issues unfortunately.

After years of Gastro problems I decided to pay private to see a specialist. I selected Dr Ramakrishnan because he looked kind and had a great deal of experience, when I met him, my incline was correct. I do suffer with a health anxiety and after a health scare last year, my mind could not stop worrying that there was something more suspicious happening in my bowel area. He really listened to me and then after the procedure when I went through my results he told me how thorough he had been with his checks at the time of my colonoscopy, showing me images and explaining everything in detail. I would definately recommend Dr Ramakrishnan, he was very professional and he did listen to all of my concerns.

I would recommend this Doctor to anyone, put me at my ease, understood my concerns about my problem & required procedures & further treatment, explained it all clearly. On top of which he is a nice person. His team were also helpful, reassuring & took very good care of me before during & after the procedure. The hospital itself is also spotlessly clean & reassuring as far as such places can be.

An open mind I presented myself to Dr Ramakrishnan almost unannounced and without a GP referral letter. I was full of anxiety as I had ideas about why I had abdominal pain, but my GP didn’t seem to be listening as I had no bowel cancer risk factors. Dr Ramakrishnan explained how he likes to start with a clean slate and therefore didn’t need the background from the GP. He likes to look for his own clues and start to put the puzzle together. This in itself was hugely reassuring. Empathetic and understanding Dr Ramakrishnan listened intently, sympathised and understood from the very first appointment. I felt like I was losing my mind and could no longer decide which of my symptoms were real as I was so upset. Dr Ramakrishnan did not patronise me, but explained and helped me recognise which symptoms were priority and which would more likely subside once I started to have clarity on what was wrong with me. A hugely approachable and kind physician. Detailed and thorough I never felt rushed. And Dr Ramakrishnan ensured he investigated every avenue and used all the imaging and diagnostic tools he had at his disposal. What impressed me greatly was that Dr Ramakrishnan took my whole picture into consideration each time he considered a scan or procedure. I was paying for myself and I could tell Dr Ramakrishnan wanted to make sure that the benefit gained from any scan or test would far outweigh the cost for me. I never felt pressured to sign up to more cost without fully understanding why and the information I would gain from the next step we agreed. Clear explanations and confirmation of understanding Once results were obtained from scans, my colonoscopy and biopsies Dr Ramakrishnan shared images and reports with me. Explaining all the medical terminology to me in a way I could understand and digest. Multi-disciplinary mindset After 3-years of visits to nurses and gynaecologists to put an end to my ‘period pain’ Dr Ramakrishnan was able to diagnose polyps in my colon. 3 have been removed and one more will hopefully be removed soon. I am feeling a lot better. I am now also hugely reassured that despite not having traditional risk factors for polyps and the potential of bowel cancer, I should qualify for check-ups. I am further reassured that Dr Ramakrishnan also recognises the importance of sharing cases like mine with gynaecology colleagues to help encourage a multi-disciplinary approach and collaboration when investigating persistent abdominal pain. I recommend Dr Ramakrishnan 100%.

I had been suffering from Gastric Reflux for quite sometime. I was told by my own GP's practice that I had to wait at least six weeks before a GP would see me. After waiting for 8 weeks I saw a GP who told me to drink more water & sleep with three pillows. It was at this point I decided to make an appointment with Dr Ram. Dr Ram was wonderful & so kind to me as I have recently lost both my parents and now have dreadful health anxiety. Dr Ram suggested a CT scan which I had the very next day, and as a follow up from that I underwent an Endoscopy. I was treated with the up most kindness from Dr Ram and his team, and although I was very anxious about having the procedure, there really was no need as I was treated so well, & having sedation helped. Dr Ram came to see me after the procedure and explained what he had found. I am pleased to say that there were no concerns, and at my follow up appointment, Dr Ram explained how to manage my medication. I would highly recommend Dr Ram, I think he is a wonderful man.
