I was fortunate to be sent to St Thomas Hospital in May 2017 with heart problems, and came under the care of a brilliant surgical team. I had never in my 60 years had a proceedure in hospital, never mind a major operation and Stuart and the rest of the team made me feel calm and comfortable with what was going on, even taking the time to fully explain what was wrong with my heart and how it would be fixed.
I had only had a general anaesthetic once before and that was when I was 11 years old, that experinece did not end well for the dentist, but I kept a promise to Stuart. I didn't throw up on him and he looked after me.
