Dr Stuart Booth

As we celebrate Christmas and look forward to the New Year we would like to express our immense gratitude to the staff in the critical care team but especially to Dr Booth who was the critical care consultant who oversaw the care of our son. Following what we believed to be exploratory leg surgery we soon discovered that he had suffered septic shock and multiple organ failure. Dr Booth was responsible for leading the critical care medical team who stabilised and kept our son alive after his surgery. To our mind he is not only an excellent clinician but is possessed with that rare ability to liaise as a doctor but also empathise when we were faced with the worst news. He came back a few hours later and reassured us that he would not be leaving until he was totally confident that he was stable. It is difficult for us to find the appropriate words to express how outstanding Dr Booth was that night. We were extremely fortunate that our son was in his care. Our experience of Dr Booth will stay with us for the rest of our lives. We feel he is a truly exceptional individual. Thank you Dr Booth.

Dr Booth was so kind to me he clearly explained everything he was doing and what would happen next. I have never had a spinal anaesthetic before and he kept me reassured throughout the whole operation. He visited me twice on the ward after my surgery to make sure I was okay. I cannot give any constructive suggestions on how he could improve, his care was exceptional the best I have ever received and I have had quite a few operations. I cannot recommend him higher enough.
