Over the past year I, as the support of a close friend, have been to many appointments, with many doctors. Of all the consultant psychiatrists we dealt with Dr Stroma McFarlane was the one who stood out. Her knowledge and experience was vital in getting closer to a reasonable diagnosis and prognosis, which in an already difficult situation offered some needed clarity, hope and stability. Dr McFarlane was attentive, empathetic and brought a level of humanity to the care she provided that until that point, had been very much absent in other doctors. In a health system that struggles, it's doctors like this that we're lucky to have access to. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Dr Stroma McFarlane to anyone else in need and am very grateful for the help she gave us.
