I first saw Dr MacFarlane when she was working for the NHS. I was treated by her but only saw her for a couple of sessions before she left to join the Priory. She was the most understanding Psychiatrist I have ever seen, and I have seen a few ! She gave me all the time she could within the constraints of the NHS. Dr MacFarlane just got me, understood my anxieties and worked through my diagnosis with me. At the beginning of this year (2017). I needed to seek psychiatric help again, not wanting to wait for months for a referral to the NHS I decided to see Dr MacFarlane privately. She was amazing, she was warm and encouraged me to share feelings that I had never explored before. It was a bit like talking to an old friend. There is nothing officious about her, I did not feel judged in any way. She listened to my own opinions regarding my mental health. I was given all the time I needed. This would never been afforded to me on the NHS. This time enabled us to look at the past, the future and explore the best treatment options that would suit my individual needs. My treatment program has been magic, I have been more stable this year than I have ever been before. Dr MacFarlane has left the door open for me to go back at any time and I defiantly will, should I need to. I felt that Dr MacFarlane cared, and was focused on offering me the best possible treatment. Highly recommended.
