Following the retirement of Mr Ken Lavery, Stephen was appointed QVH's Medical Director on 1 April 2013. Specialist interests: Anaesthesia for children; research relating to pain relief following surgery and teaching of fellow healthcare professionals Dr Stephen Fenlon has been a consultant anaesthetist at QVH since 2000. He qualified in 1988 from Nottingham University Medical School and initially followed a career in General Practice before deciding to specialise in anaesthesia in 1993. In addition to his clinical commitment, he has held managerial positions at the Trust since appointment, Lead Clinician for Paediatric Services and, since 2010, Clinical Director for Paediatrics and Clinical Support Services.
