I recently saw Dr. Cotton in a neurology clinic at Wrexham Maelor. He was very dismissive to the point of rudeness. He came to diagnosis of 'health anxiety with some functional symptoms. He ran no diagnostic tests and didn't even so much as physically examine my reflexes in consultation. He didn't answer my questions at all. I feel he was medically gaslighting me. I have a Rheumatological diagnosis of Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and awaiting genetic testing results for EDS/Marfans. I have a long history of physical trauma to the head/neck/spine. As Dr. Alan Hakim says, it is a 'no brainer' that hypermobile patients who have a history of physical whiplash trauma may have stability issues at the craniocervical junction. Dr. Cotton seemed to have very little knowledge on Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders. I would give minus stars if I could. If you are a female with long standing and complex chronic health issues I recommend you do not consult with this doctor.
