Although the consesus of opionion is that this Doctor is a good Doctor, personally I did not take to her at all. She made all sorts of errors, when we dealt with her, when she came into the Whiteleaf Centre, and made un-necessary comments, in certain areas. On balance we would be happy to see her again, but she aint that great, truth be told...!!

I have suffered with mental illness since my early 20's (now 37), which has included 4 hospitalizations across this time frame, including the Roehampton Priory. Sophie Johnson, is by far the best consultant I have ever worked with, at a time I really needed comprehensive support as a result of being ill for over 18 months, prior to coming under her care on Opal Ward. Her compassion, intelligence and experience was a massive factor in my recovery, and allowed me to put my trust in her and her understudy Dr Grant that led to me getting well. I spent almost 4 months on Opal ward, and when I look back on my life it will have been one of the most important chapters in it. Sophie and the senior team on Opal Ward are outstanding mental health professionals, and are the holders of hope for the patients that they support, and all the care and facilities that the ward offers makes Opal only a ward of hope and never of shame. Would highly recommend to anyone that is struggling and needs to find the right help and services to get well.

My family and I have been so happy for the care received by my Sister under the guidance of Dr Sophie Johnson and her Team at Opal Ward, Whiteleaf Centre. She is obviously an excellent clinician and presents as a diligent and sensitive Dr, very aware of her patients, their relatives and her staff. She found time to spend discussing my Sister's case at very short notice and came across both professionally and empathically. She waxed lyrical about her staff, not surprisingly as they do a magnificent job making vulnerable people so comfortable and content during a difficult time in their lives. As a fellow doctor, I was so impressed by the set up and individuals at Whiteleaf. Thank you all very much.

Dr Johnson was a breath of fresh air when our family had quite literally given up hope with regards to a close relative's severe mental health issues. We were seriously considering going down the private healthcare route but after a bit of a battle, we were able to have our relative admitted urgently to The Whiteleaf Centre where they were admitted as an in-patient for what would go on to be five months. For what felt like the first time, the staff at The Whiteleaf Centre took the gravity of the situation very seriously. One doctor described it as "one of the worst cases of depression I have seen in my career". Dr Johnson "took on the case" and she did so with compassion, consideration and care and thankfully our relative is now in recovery and living independently again. We truly can't thank Dr Johnson and the wider group of staff at The Whiteleaf enough, they have shown us light at the end of what has been a very dark and long tunnel for our family. We wish all of the staff and the patients who continue to receive treatment there all the very best for 2020 and beyond.

Dr Johnson is a compassionate and dedicated psychiatrist. She has a good knowledge of psychiatric advances and is always interested in helping other. She greets her colleagues and patients with a smile and a kind word, this is why I would highly recommend her as a doctor to a friend or relative.
