Thank you to Mr. Hampson and team. Recent support, via MS Teams has really helped me through a tough period, over many months. Knowing that I had another appointment due in a few weeks' time to review my situation REALLY helped. I think previously I might have been discharged from CMHT care, which would have left me (as it has in the past) feeling abandoned and thrown onto my own resources with the thought of having to go back to the GP or even self-referring being quite daunting. So, just staying "on the books" was, in and of itself, very helpful. Remote sessions, via Teams worked fine for me and meant less hassle in terms of getting to appointments, as well as allowing my care to remain completely private (i.e. no bumping into neighbours in the waiting room). Mr. Hampson listened very well and I feel that having a few review sessions (rather than just one consultation) helped him to get to know me better and thus improved the level of care he could give. I particularly appreciated the fact that he was prepared to accept the fact that I am not at all keen on medication, even though he is a prescribing psychiatrist and not (as far as I know) a psychotherapist. He did not push the medication too hard and did give me a sort of short therapy session as part of each review session - which was really helpful. The only reason I have not given three 5/5 ratings is that I do find it hard when an expert says "it's your choice as to which medication mix is for you", when I as the patient really don't have much of a clue as to which medication might be best and, crucially, which one has what side-effects, including withdrawal symptoms at the end of treatment. When I pushed/asked for more details Mr. Hampson was happy to discuss, which was very useful, but I think he may not have done if I had not been strong enough to "push" - which many patients with depression/anxiety would not be. Finally, in the notes which come in letter form after each session the spelling of my wife's name has shifted from Dorte to daughter (which is of of course now completely inaccurate!). She is not my daughter she is my German wife and her name is Dörte, which can be anglicised to Doerte or Dorte, but please not to daughter! (An understandable error, but one which could perhaps cause misunderstanding in the future - maybe worth pointing out to whoever types up the notes, or perhaps amending the process?) Many thanks again. Best wishes, Alasdhair.

I was a hardened robust career Police Detective for 20 years when I suffered PTSD through exposure to work related images/events my career and life fell apart, I was very fortunate & luckily referred to the Simon in early 2019. Simon basically saved my life, and I don’t say that lightly, he was the safe reassuring voice in the darkness and fog of my darkest days, he supported me through helping me understand my mental health conditions through his vast knowledge and experience of my conditions. Simon is both caring and reassuring with a great nature, a consummate professional but approachable. Thank you Simon

Had my initial assessment with Dr Hampson and was really quite worried about it. He put me at ease and allowed me to explain my issues. He was completely sympathetic to my situation and very positive and helpful in recommending the next potential steps.
