The confidence I have had in Dr De Silver-Minor has helped me through my breast cancer treatment during our phone calls .I felt that she understood the few problems I was experiencing and found the answers of which myself and my family was most grateful for the on going support from her. My thanks go out to Dr De Silver-Minor and all at the Churchill hospital for their great care.

Having known Dr De Silva-Minor since 2016, when I was first diagnosed with primary breast cancer, I would unreservedly recommend this excellent oncologist to anyone in need. During my time with her I was given the best treatment available on the NHS. It was indeed, as my own GP said, ‘second to none.’ I have always had complete confidence in her professional expertise because I feel she practises the best type of patient care (she is the only oncologist who examines me during every consultation). Having been deemed in 2016 as being at an extremely high risk of the cancer recurring, I am convinced that both her advice regarding lifestyle and exercise, together with her very kindly agreeing to the ongoing monitoring of my situation, gave me confidence and peace of mind; it also gave me valuable years in which treatments enabling patients to live with secondary breast cancer became available. Dr De Silva-Minor’s manner is always positive, friendly, and reassuring. During the past year, since recurrence of the cancer in 2022, she has gone out of her way to give me help and much-needed guidance both within the NHS and through private consultation; this is even though, regretfully, her practice is not now in the area I live in.

We saw Dr De Silva-Minor for a second opinion after my wife reached a signifcant crossroads in her (NHS) treatment. At a time that was laced with personal challenges and emotions Dr De Silva-Minor faciliated a consultation at short notice - something that was hugely appreciated. She was superb in quickly understanding the nature of the complex issues and did so in a (constantly) kind and compassionate manner. Her suggestions for a treatment route - despite multiple lines of previous treatment - were insighful and gave grounded hope and encouragment just when it was needed most. For this we will be forever grateful - thank you! I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr De Silva-Minor to anyone in a similar position.

I cannot fault the care and attention I have received during my ongoing treatment for breast cancer at the Churchill. From the initial diagnosis, followed by surgery, radiotherapy and the decision that I should take 'chemo' tablets, everyone involved has been - and still are- caring, helpful and positive, going out of their way to explain and discuss decisions about my treatment. As the Oncology 'lead', with overall responsibility for my treatment these positives reflect the approach and skills displayed by Dr Dr Silva-Minor and I leave either telephone or face to face appointments feeling re-assured and knowing that my comments have been listened to and taken on board. So, very many thanks indeed to Dr De Silva-Minor and to all the staff in the Churchill Breast Cancer and Oncology Departments.

I highly recommend Dr Shiroma De Silva. My experience was very good, and i am glad I spoke to her. Especially in a time of worry and concern over the Christmas Period. Not only did she listen to me. But she recommended me to another Dr in the concerning area. I was concerned I had a breast lump, but thanks to Dr Shiroma De Silva, she offered to get me seen very quickly by another top specialist. I went and my concerns were eased as I was told everything was fine. I would recommend this Dr to anyone having the same concerns, not only is she a good Doctor. She is a very attentive and caring person as well.
