This psychiatrist has failed to grasp the very basics of her job....to listen to clients. She contradicts her own diagnoses and prescription recommendations. She insisted i start a medication and was aggressive about it. Then some time later she denied having ever suggesting it and refused to prescribe it. I had no faith in her judgement as it changed more than the weather. I aksed for a discussion and she ignored me by turning her back to me. As if to say, in my court you are dismissed. Psychiatrists have one fatal flaw....they forget that they are human too.

I will admit that she may be a good doctor ?? It depends on who you are and how pliable you are. In my case she has been contradictory, prescribing medication one minute and changing her mind another. She suffers from a severe lack of empathy. I asked to be referred to a different shrink, to be told that she is the only one in Edinburgh. I may be ill, but make no mistake, i am not stupid. To say that there is only one shrink for the whole of the city is crazy, considering that i have seen another in an emergency. We are mentally ill, but that does not excuse lying to us. I refuse to be patrionised and talked down to. The sooner she retires and allows someone else to take her place the better. Someone younger, more progressive and with a degree of empathy. No matter how ill i ever become, i will never ever deal with this woman again. She needs to learn sympathy, empathy and know that shrinks are not God.
