I wrote review last month in frustration. And would like to apologize, My diagnosis was sent to my Dr a few days before i wrote the review but did not know. I understand now that the reason it took so long was due to the extensive assessment that was done on me which has led to a lot of typing. Sorry Dr Cubbin

When i first saw Dr Cubbin in May, i was very distressed and at the peak of my untreated, undiagnosed ADD. She was so understanding and helpful. She reassured me that help was on the way. She suggested books that i could read to familiarize myself with the ADD. After i was diagnosed she said she would send my doctor the diagnosis THAT DAY and request therapy and support. And i promised i would write the review of my meeting with her. I felt really bad because a week or 2 went by and i had not done the review, but i finally got to do it. it's been over one and half months, and my doctor still has not received the diagnosis. She had to ring around the Maudsley to chase up the prescribed medication. I am on the medication, it helps a bit but the traits that have been plaguing me for many years to isolation still persists, to the point that my career, which is the only thing i have going for myself, is now in jeopardy. I feel like this disorder is finally disabling me due to not being treated for so many years. I am becoming more of a loner, I feel scared for my future. I used to be someone who was always full of love, smiling, caring and helping people, volunteering for organizations that needed support, but i feel like i am finally closing and dying inside from disconnection. This is very sad and depressing! All the books Dr Cullen suggested i read, they all say the same thing, with diagnosis- SUPPORT MUST be in place. There are no support groups in London, or none that i could find. Dr Cullen is an amazing Dr, However she needs to also understand that leaving patients bewildered after diagnosis and depending on the severity of years of being undiagnosed is very severe. This is not meant to be a bad review but constructive criticism to improve the amazing work you do and to follow through to avoid any new patients going through what i am going through.

I was very nervous about having my assessment for ADD. Dr Cubbin was very patient, helpful, understanding and informative. She gave me contact address of websites and books to read that would help me better understand the ADD. I felt at ease and she made me feel like i mattered, She gave me her undivided attention and this made me feel good about myself. She is a True Dr who she cares, something that is rare to find these days! Thank you Dr Cubbin

Dr Cubbin comes across as very approachable and is genuinely caring. She is clearly very up to date with ADHD knowledge and is sympathetic to the plight of adults suffering from this disorder. I have really benefited from taking medication and function much better in life now. I had the confidence to know that i could get good advice on any problems with my medicaiton along the way and that was really reassuring. I would definitely recommend her to others.

I am relieved and amazed. At last i find a doctor who not only believes in adult ADHD and is knowledgable about it but also helps me access NHS treatment for ongoing care. It was worth every penny for the assessment as this has changed my life. I can function at last and feel normal! She was thorough and sympathetic and, whilst it was a pain at the time to fill out so many questionnaires and find school reports and get parents to contribute, it was worth it. The report she produced was detailed and my GP was happy to prescribe as he could see what a huge difference this drug was making to my life. Dr Cubbin has also helped my GP apply for NHS care for me for follow up so that it wont cost a fortune. She is a great find and anyone with adult ADHD who is getting frustrated with their treatment (or lack of it) so far, should go and see her.
