Dr Burcombe has been my oncologist for breast cancer treatment since December 2019.
I couldn’t have hoped for anyone better. He genuinely listens and responds to the questions you ask. He has never made me feel like my worries or concerns were vexatious and has always been available when I felt I needed help. I have complete confidence that his advice/treatment is based on a combination of the best available evidence and consideration of my specific case.

I have had one consultation with Dr Burcombe. He took the time to explain the treatment options to me and at no point did I feel rushed or pushed for time, the consultation went at my pace with ample opportunities to ask and answer questions.
When there was a slight timing issue with my treatment, Dr Burcombe took the time to call me personally and inform me, which I greatly appreciated.

I met Dr Burcombe in 2013 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then he has guided me through chemotherapy and radiotherapy and has always had a sympathetic and positive attitude. I still continue to consult him once a year and am so grateful for his help and kindness.
I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone as I trust him completely. He is always easy to contact which a huge comfort.

Dr Burcombe has been simply wonderful throughout my treatment. He has been kind and patient with me and I have always felt really confident that the decisions that were made throughout were the right ones. He has gone above and beyond and I am so grateful. Would highly recommend!

I qualified at The London Hospital Medical College in 1991.
Four years later I entered oncology, training at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, The Middlesex and St. Bartholomew’s Hospitals before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in 1998.
I interrupted my training to complete a Research Fellowship at Cancer Research UK’s Gray Laboratory then broadened my experience with a spell as Consultant Radiation Oncologist in Christchurch, New Zealand.
In March, 2004, I was appointed Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Kent Oncology Centre, Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW).
As Trustee of Breast Cancer Kent, I have been closely involved in fund-raising to provide state-of-the-art equipment for the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Breast Care Centres.
I work closely with Macmillan, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now, supporting these great charities providing support and information for patients.
I believe it is important to promote secondary breast cancer initiatives and my efforts in this arena have met with strong approval from professionals and patients.
I contribute to the Kent Oncology Centre programme of clinical audit and research, have publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, and have delivered presentations at national breast and lung cancer meetings.
