I was admitted to Emergency with a heart rate of 200 beats per minute. After 5 hours of fighting to restore my heart rhythm, I was prescribed an intravenous antibiotic because I have bronchiectasis and resistant bacteria. They made me a treatment plan, Meropenem intravenously, a nebulizer and moved me to the unit. I was coughing and had hoarseness and exacerbation. Dr. Moitra came and asked me what I was doing here in the hospital, my blood results were fine and kicked me out. I'm sitting here looking for a second opinion, I'm coughing and short of breath. I don't recommend it at all

Dr Moitra was charming at my first and only consultation, he recommended a Biphosphonate IV but did not mention side effects, the IV was delivered within seconds and in 24hrs I was in agony, could not lie on my side, could not sleep. The nurse did not mention this side effect and I got no paperwork. I was unable to get through to Dr Moitra, he was not interested in seeing me. I was told to see GP but could not get appointment. Just offered pain killers over the phone without examination at GP surgery. Eventually after 12 days of severe pain I went to A&E who after many tests diagnosed muscular pain due the IV. Dr Moitra apparently discharged me 2 days later ( without ever seeing me again) He suggested via GP to try another IV ! No thanks! No duty of care shown here. Disgusted by his treatment

Mr Moitra was the person my daughter was referred to and unfortunately so, he didn't diagnose her and preferred to just prescribe amitriptyline for a so called nerve issue.....a nerve issue that he could apparently see with his x ray eyes as this diagnosis was made with no tests whatsoever, have since found out that nerve conduction tests should have been done! I found his manner rude, standoffish and he thought he knew her body better than she did, i was with her at the consultation and he acted like neither of us was there! The end result watching my daughter go through a further 5 years of excruciating agony. We then we found out he diagnosed a virus on her records I have a few acquaintances who have also seen him and they said the same thing, so if you want to be in bad pain for quite a few years go and see him, if you want an actual diagnosis see one of the other lovely rheumatologists at the hospital.
