Dr Robin Roberts

I first consulted Dr Roberts in February 2020 to ask if he would arrange a 14-day continuous ECG monitor (Ziopatch) to check on my occasional atrial fibrillation. I was so impressed at the way he handled this request that I asked if he would be my consultant on cardiac issues. In the last year he organised a CT coronary angiogram which revealed some degree of narrowing in my cardiac arteries, of which I was completely unaware. He organised further specialist tests, including one in the US, which showed that my artery walls were very flexible and the narrowing did not present a significant impediment to arterial flow. He also recommended a course of ECP, a non-invasive approach to improving the quality of my arterial endothelial lining which has been widely shown to improve cardiac efficiency. Dr Roberts has an interesting range of qualities, which have more than justified my request that he look after my cardiac issues. He has an impressive knowledge of cardiac treatments and the latest research in both the UK and the US. He is very efficient in assessing and organising the required treatments, and providing detailed follow up and reporting to me. Equally important, his “bedside manner” is all you could ask for - very patiently and clearly listening to and communicating with the patient. As a result of my experience in the past year my wife is also now a patient, and is very pleased with the reassuring tests he organised for her.

Robin Roberts has treated me and several members of my family over the years, some with live threatening conditions. He is both intuitive and thorough in all his consultations. The last consultation I had with him was just after Christmas and out of hours via zoom. He was able to diagnose exactly what was wrong immediately and direct me to the correct emergency care. Everything he said was consequently confirmed when I got to the hospital. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him to anyone.

Do not hesitate to see Dr Roberts. I saw Dr Roberts after having suffered bewildering and distressing symptoms for 10 years without having been given a diagnosis despite having seen many consultants in that period. I left my consultation with Dr Roberts with both a diagnosis (microvascular angina) and a treatment, which was unbelievably fantastic. By way of treatment, I have received several courses of external counterpulsation at Dr Roberts' clinic, a non-invasive treatment that I have even been able to sleep through and which has transformed my life. Dr Roberts' clinic has always been extremely accommodating in fitting in with my scheduling preferences for treatment. Before seeing Dr Roberts, I had undergone numerous scans and tests, not all of them pleasant, instigated by doctors who seemed to have no idea what was wrong with me. It was a great relief with Dr Roberts that he understood the symptoms I described and knew what they signified, enabling me to proceed directly to an effective treatment lacking side effects worse than transient skin lesions. (For completeness, I should stress that Dr Roberts did explain that I could have diagnostic tests but I didn't want them and Dr Roberts understood that I did not want him to press the point). In addition to formal consultations, Dr Roberts has without charge provided ongoing telephone and email advice. Dr Roberts has a small suite of 2 rooms rented at the south end of Harley Street, conveniently close to Kings Cross station for my purposes. In all fairness, these are not the most luxurious consulting rooms in London but I don't go there to admire the decor and I have huge gratitude for the medical services that have been delivered to me there. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Roberts.

I found Dr Roberts really genuine and his expertise and experience makes you feel safe, he is very thorough in his examinations does not leave anything to chance. Whatever is wrong with you he will find it ! Sometimes the results are not what you want to hear, but he will make sure that you receive the best care. I recommend him very highly.

Robin has advised a number of my relatives and friends on their cardiac health. I am a hospital consultant myself and trust him implicity. I have also referred a number of patients to him. He is one of the most caring and knowledgeable doctors I have ever met.
