I was told by this Dr that I would not receive a referral to a gynecologist as a gynecologist would offer me the same birth control pills to control my heavy, painful periods that I have been suffering from for nearly 15 years.
I have never been seen by a gynecologist in my 23 years, I suspect I could have PCOS or endometritis. But have no way of ever finding out when no Dr could care less about my pain being diagnosed properly, due to attempts to minimise expense. They would much rather I just managed and covered up my pain with the use of hormonal birth control, as opposed to finding any real answers.
The average amount of time for diagnosis of endometritis is 7.5 years due to negligence from Dr's, after 14 I should have been given a referral to a gynecologist. It could cause infertility if I am suffering from it. This care is unacceptable and pathetic, especially from a female Doctor.
