Having been diagnosed with small cell bladder cancer in 2017, I was fortunate to be treated by Richard Shaffer at Mount Alvernia hospital in Guildford. Since diagnosis my ongoing treatment has been truly excellent. Mr Shaffer is a consummate professional, a highly skilled oncologist who explained everything to me in simple straightforward language. Despite the nature of my cancer he determined a course of treatment involving both chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the combination of which has eradicated the condition. The fact that I am here to write this review is testament to Richard Shaffer's brilliance and for that I am truly grateful.

Dr Shaffer and his staff provided an excellent service in these difficult times of Covid19. After an initial tele consultation we met in person to confirm his diagnosis and recommend treatment. The hospital was excellent during my two courses of treatment.Punctual and particularly careful to observe Covid protocol .
