Dr Richard Leech

Dr Leech recently did an urgent port removal for me after the skin around it eroded (he had not done the original insertion.) Yesterday he fitted a new one for me and all seems to have gone well. As soon as I met him I felt I was safe in his hands. He is friendly, thoughtful and sympathetic while being absolutely professional. He explained everything very clearly andgave me advice for moving forward. I had been very anxious but became calm under his care and am now very relieved. I felt no pain during the procedures and the first removal has healed well without complications. His assisting staff were also brilliant- I would like to give a special shout out to Gita, whol ooked after me before and after surgery both times. I was very lucky tobetreated by Dr Leech and his team on both occasions and am extremely grateful.

Dr Leech fitted my Portacath in at short notice (a change of treatment plan meant I suddenly needed it before my original date with a different surgeon). The whole experience at KIMs was smooth. Dr Leech in particular was very reassuring and made me feel relaxed about the procedure. The procedure itself was much easier than I anticipated. The nurses took good care of me from start to finish. I highly recommend this hospital and surgeon.

I was very apprehensive about having the port fitted but I have to say Dr Leach was very reassuring and kind. I have hardly noticed it was there throughout treatment and it made it so much easier for having not only chemotherapy but also my blood tests.

I had my insertion and removal done by Richard. On both procedures no question was off limits and his secretary Liz does a follow up call to check in the next day. Everything is explained and nothing is too much for this husband and wife team. Why cant they all be like this ?! For any one who has any fear, please be assured the procedure is quick and painless and being done by Richard you are guaranteed the best patient experience. Thank you for helping me on my journey
