I had my port insertion recently and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My doctor was incredibly kind, calm, and reassuring throughout, which really helped put me at ease during what could have been a very nerve-wracking procedure. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. I also want to mention his secretary, who was absolutely lovely—so friendly, helpful, and organised. She made the whole process feel smooth from start to finish. I’m very grateful for the care and support I received and would highly recommend this team.

Dr Leech was professional, kind and compassionate throughout the fitting of my port and succeeded in calming down a very nervous patient (me). Only a day after the fitting, but so far so good with no discomfort and already receiving chemo. Thanks must also go to Liz, his secretary who dealt with all my queries with patience. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience - thank you.

Dr Richard Leech fitted my port in Sept 25, having now finished my Chemotherapy Dr Leech has just removed my port this week (March 26) What an amazing little thing a port is, saving so much time when having treatment ( No messing around trying to find a vein). If this option is offered to you I highly recommend you take it. Dr Richard Leech and Liz Leech (Medical Secretary) what a team! A telephone call the next day from Liz to see how you’re progressing means such a lot after having a procedure. The Medical Profession needs more Dr Leech’s! Many thanks to you both.

I recently had a port fitted for my chemotherapy and I would really like to thank Dr Richard Leech. I was quite nervous about the procedure, but he was so kind, calm and reassuring. He explained everything clearly and made me feel completely at ease. He also made sure I had plenty of sedation so I was comfortable throughout. He explained that the veins in my arm were not visible enough for chemotherapy, so having the port fitted means I can now go ahead with my treatment. I’m very grateful for his care, kindness and professionalism during a very difficult time.

Dr Leech explained the process fully and took the time to answer any questions you had. The nursing staff in the ward were also amazing and Dr Leech had a great surgical team behind him.

I recently (Feb 2026) had a port fitted by Dr Leech in prep for chemotherapy. Before the procedure I was very worried and anxious about what was involved and how I would feel. I met with Dr Leech on the day of the procedure and found him to be hugely reassuring, everything was explained clearly and he most certainly put me at ease. The procedure was pain free, slick and communication was continual so I was informed as to what was happening. I loved the follow up call the next day which was not expected but really appreciated. The team, including Liz were all amazing. Great experience all round.

Dr Leech performed surgery to implant a port for my chemotherapy administration. Richard and Liz were reassuring, supportive and informative throughout the whole process and afterwards too. I felt so safe at every point during this difficult time. The chemotherapy nurses often remark that “this is a great port” and the wound has healed without any problems. Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kindness of the experience and quality of the procedure. I hope to be able to return to Kent when the time comes to have it removed.

I had a port fitted by Dr Leech three years ago, and everything was explained to me very clearly. The whole process was simple and completely pain free. Having something like this done, on top of coming to terms with a difficult diagnosis, can feel incredibly daunting. But I can honestly reassure you that if this option is offered to you, take it. It has been an absolute game changer for me – particularly because I have diabolical veins that seem to disappear the moment a needle appears. Just as importantly, it has made things so much easier for the nurses and doctors. They’ve been able to access a vein quickly and without causing me any discomfort, and none of them ever want to hurt you, do they? Having a port has made my hospital visits far easier, and anything that can reduce stress and discomfort during treatment has to be a good thing. Thank you, Dr Leech. What you do every day truly makes such a difference to people like me.

Richard did everything to make the procedure go comfortably for me, and it did. But a week later the nurse took a look yesterday and was stunned at how well everything was healing. Many thanks Richard.
