I was having spinal anesthetic and Dr Griffiths, realising that I was scared of the procedure was very caring and explained as he went along. I was amazed at how easy it was and how I felt. Earlier before going down to the operating Dr Griffiths had offered me a most welcome cold lemon drink 'Nutricia' as I had not had anything to eat or drink for a while. I was aware throughout the operation of a hip replacement but I had no worries, and felt very relaxed. Because I had not been put to sleep, recovery was very quick, and the spinal anesthetic had completely wore off in two hours, after the operation.
