Reviews
I saw Dr Sargur at the Thornbury hospital after months of struggling with, what I was told to be, "allergies". The problem of increasing angiodema over time culminated in a 999 call and A+E admission with a poorly treated urinary tract infection. Appropriate antibiotics resolved the problem. However, I was then advised to continue to take high doses of antihistamines and steroids, both of which had considerable side effects.
I have had mild occasional symptoms of allergy since childhood, and realised that none of those symptoms bared any similarity to those that I was experiencing. More alarmingly, none of the standard treatments for allergies was working for me. Angiodema is a very scary situation for anyone to be in, and I certainly would not wish for anyone else to go through a similar experience to mine. The impact upon my life has been huge; I stopped walking outdoors, restricted my diet and cancelled a long-awaited, and very special, holiday in the fear that I would suffer anaphylaxis.
Enter Dr Sargur. He is absolutely brilliant. He listened very carefully to my history and give me time to tell my story. He took time to tell me that my symptoms of angiodema were due to infection, not allergies. He encouraged me to eat normally again and to enjoy the outdoors-which I love. I now have the confidence to book another holiday.
Thank you for your invaluable help and advice, Dr Sargur-you truly are one in a million.
After months of being dismissed, belittled and gaslighted by various clinicians regarding a wide variety of troublesome symptoms, I now have definitive answers thanks to the excellent Dr Sargur.
Finally, I have proof that it is not "all in my head," as so many professionals and laymen have suggested or even outright stated as if it were a fact. I have a dust mite allergy! I cannot understate my sense of relief, nor my gratitude to Dr Sargur.

I came away reassured and safe in the knowledge my hives will eventually go away.
The consultant explained the condition and how it happened very well
Thank you
An excellent consultant.
Dr Sargur is an accomplished professional, he took his time to explore my notes and history and was very thorough. He listened carefully to my concerns and experiences with regards to my complex symptoms and I felt in safe hands from start to finish.
Time was taken to explain several points and questions that were raised and it was an excellent and thorough consultation. Dr Sargur’s expertise and knowledge is impressive yet everything was explained in an accessible manner.
I felt heard and respected and a plan of action has been made, including trialling some medication as well as very specific testing. Dr Sargur also made some suggestions with regards to ways that I could access support for some of my symptoms. His communication back to my GP and to my gastroenterologist has been superb. My appointment has helped me to see a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel as I have been quite unwell for some time, I am hopeful that I am now on the right course to feeling better and for this I am extremely grateful.
