I was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and moved to the UK when I was 13 years old. Dr. Littlejohn was not aware of this, and was not aware of my history in Abu Dhabi. At age 12 in Abu Dhabi, I was prescribed 0.5mg Sertraline and 1mg Risperidone for quite some time. In Abu Dhabi, at the age of 12, my parents were told by the psychiatrist (who was a Professor) that I was psychotic and that I needed to be placed in a psychiatric hospital. However, my parents managed to avoid that by making sure I took my medication. Dr.Littlejohn dismissed psychosis as “behaviour problems”. I am still struggling with psychosis nowadays, and am currently in the process of getting my records from Abu Dhabi. COVID has exposed how broken the NHS system is. On the other hand, the UAE government’s management of COVID was among the best in the world.

After struggling to get an appointment with our local NHS hospital due to wait times we opted to search for a private child psychiatrist to assess our son. We come across The Priory Group in Chelmsford where Dr Littlejohn works and made an appointment with him. I was keen to find a consultant who also worked on the NHS too. Dr Littlejohn's initial assessment was extremely thorough with our son and he carefully explained every detail to us. He is calm and methodical in the way he works which put our son and us at ease. Dr littlejohn was able to give us a diagnosis on the day and start treatment explaining that if we were to have any questions to email his secretary and he would come back to us which is indeed what he has done on many occasions with us. Dr Littlejohns fees are very reasonable and his care and diligence is second to none. I would most definitely recommend Dr Littlejohn to any parents who's children are experiencing mental health problems or behavioural problems.
