I was admitted to Pembury Hospital on the 18th April 2020 under Dr Rajagopalan's care. I was very poorly and had numerous things going wrong with with me and due to the pandemic, not many Doctors stayed too long in the room to talk to me. But Dr Rajagopalan was different. He wanted to know everything about me from day 1 and he waited patiently without interrupting me, allowing me to speak my mind.He listened to my concerns and worries and wanted to help me. He was the only Dr that actually listened to me and did his utmost to help me. His care is beyond great, I am alive and on the road to recovery because of Dr Rajagopalan. I owe him my life! He came everyday to see me and he spent a considerable amount of time with me, ensuring that I was progressing well. He alerted the other teams of my condition and had plans in place for me should I deteriorate in the night or during the weekend. Throughout my stay in hospital, I was kept informed by Dr Rajagopalan of my condition and the plan and not once was I unsure of what was happening. He reassured me all the time and encouraged me which I am so grateful. He not only cared for me but for my family as well. Dr Rajagopalan was very tenacious and pursued Kings to accept me as a patient for surgery. His headstrong determination and perserverance resulted in me been transferred to Kings and having my operation. Even whilst I was an inpatient at Kings, Dr Rajagopalan called me to check on me, he spoke to my consultant and enquired about my progress. Before the surgery I was pertrified and was very unsure about going for it, but Dr Rajagopalan reassured daily and promised me he will check on me after the surgery. And to this day, this wonderful, caring and compassionate doctor has fulfilled every promise he made to me. I am recovering well because of the fantastic care I personally received from Dr Rajagopalan. He is the epitome of great care and every doctor should admire and inspire to be like him.
