I am a trainee teacher with an anxiety disorder. Dr. Parsons told me that ‘teachers don’t have anxiety disorders’ and that I shouldn’t go into teaching if I have one. Terrible advice from a terrible doctor who clearly doesn’t know a thing about mental health and what people with anxiety disorders need. I was disgusted by his attitude towards me and I hope that no one else ever has to experience what I did. My advice? If you have mental health issues, don’t go to Dr. Parsons.
